- Eleni M12 contributionsPerfect!!! Very beautiful beach!!! Big stones although!
You probably need shoes to walk in the stonesWritten August 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Although the museum part was not fully operational in May it was still a great experience. Notice boards around the site explained the history of each building.Written May 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DebbieparosArthog, UK752 contributionsWe found this little place in 2019 and because of Covid, had to wait until now to return. We were THRILLED to find it just as beautiful as we remembered. Uncrowded, crystal waters, and the delightful couple are still there, running the food and drink cantina....we have already had too marvellous lunches with stunning views, and the company of some friendly cats! This is a slice of Old Greece as it was back in the 80's and 90's. We very much like the beach in Stoupa but having this to go to on every other day, as a tranquil and unspoilt alternative makes for the best holiday mix. I am only amazed that more folk aren't making the effort to go. Although, maybe thats a very good thing for us!Written September 23, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anna Maria TzannetatouPefki, Greece69 contributionsSmall and short beach that gets crowded very early. Nice waters and scenery though. If you get there early in the morning you can find parking clese to the beach.Written August 25, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Phillip NNew York72 contributionsWe had planned to use Kardamyli as a hub for day trips around the Mani peninsula. But when we got there and found Ritsa Beach, we didn't get into the car for three days. The water is warm, crystal clear and just beautiful. The tavernas and restaurants are many and all we went to were terrific. The beach is indeed rocky, but beach shoes were available at a local store and we treated ourselves.Written October 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Menachem ASalford, UK131 contributionsWe hiked up as a family with a 6 and 4 year old, not as tough as people have said as my kids made it quite happily - even in the August heat!
Starting at old kardamili we popped into mourtzinos tower (and surrounding buildings) a few minutes into our walk, for a very small fee and got some great history and views.
The hike up was a mix of steps, dirt track and small rocks, but ok enough for us and our kids. It was tiring but not a massive knockout climb. 100% worth it though, the views are incredible, the air is fresh and clean, silent except for the sounds of grasshoppers and birds, and we chased quite a few lizards on the way!
Highly recommended, and there's many more paths and further to go for climbers/walkers without kids etc... but whoever you are, make sure you take suitable footwear and plenty of water!Written September 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We managed only to take some shots from the side of the house. I think the writer himself would not be happy - if alive - with the develpoments, as they were driven by Benakis Museum, Atthens, who inherited this rare intellectual's house, near Kardamyli. It is being used to host the luxurious holidays of only very rich people, thus making it very difficult for Patrick Leigh Fermor's name, work and memory to reach the heart of all the Greek people whom he loved!!! Apart from that, the surrounding nature is a marvel!! Serenity, beautiness, nostalgia!!Written July 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sophie TVincennes, France5 contributionsThis was a nice interesting activity to do for me with my 2 children. Robin is extremely patient and has done art workshops with kids. He knew how to get them focused, get their idea on paper and obtain a rewarding mosaic production from them.On my side, he let me improvise more and recommended experienced techniques to help me achieve my work. There were many options of colors, textures and Robin has a very good eye for composition and color. Even if not an artistic person, you can easily bring home something pretty thanks to Robin.Written June 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kim VSouth Lake Tahoe, CA29 contributionsThis tiny shop contains a wealth of fun and original items to take home. Tees, art, jewelry, and other Greek-made items with fresh, modern and playful style. The owner also hosts art shows in her gallery space upstairs. She's delightful to talk with.
As an artist, I was impressed with the original design I saw in several shops around the Peloponnese. To Lokalee is like a distillation of the best.
