Stayed amble, walked up to this beach via castle.. gorgeous clean , lots of friendly dog walkers.. dunes and links nice for a a walk.. you can probably walk up to alnmouth if your fit!

It's all extremely well laid out [in a lovely old church] and there are some fascinating insights into life in the past in Alnwick - some wonderful old photos too.

It's also well worth visiting the beach, but best to drive to Lower Hauxley car park, where there are amazing views of the sea and Coquet island.
It's free, they only ask for £2 parking donation as they want to make nature accessible but I think a visit is worth more than £2 as it's brilliant, we saw loads and the volunteers were really helpful.
