- Alex GaliciaChula Vista, CA447 contributionsThe prison itself is very interesting. You may want to read up or watch available videos on its history and even about some of its supernatural residents to make it a little more interesting. It was especially interesting to note the connections with Tombstone esp. Sheriff Behan, of Tombstone, having become the Warden after leaving Tombstone after the great shoot out.

- Cyndi SDYuma, AZ106 contributionsChallenging trail for some hikers such as myself, I walk a few miles everyday, but this a challenge. The walk to the base of the hill was nice. Beautiful scenery and mountain life, lizards and quail. Very friendly hikers on the trail and the peak is breathtaking! A sign in book waits at the top.
It was my birthday and I wanted to challenge my fitness level, my heart was pumping near the steep top! I love it!

The park was quite large, and is within walking distance of the wetlands and the territorial prison. We enjoyed watching the trains pass by while we relaxed on a bench with our lunch. The park appeared to be quite well used by locals and visitors alike, with walking and biking trails along the river, a playground, and mature trees for shade.Written January 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Resort243091884811 contributionWe are winter visitors to Yuma and make it a point to visit the Visitors Center every year for new and updated information about the area. Yesterday we visited again and found the available information to be excellent.
BUT... I was perusing the items for sale in the gift shop and was drawn to the multi-colored gecko wall sculptures. I was shocked to read the tags on the items, which said "Made in China"!!! How embarrassing... Mexico and its abundance of nice art is less than 20 minutes away, and you are selling "Mexican" souvenirs made in China!!
