What travelers are saying
- Steven LLancaster, PA54 contributionsThis is an absolutely beautiful chapel. This is a Roman Catholic chapel but anyone of any faith is welcomed. Is is a very graceful, reverent and peaceful place to pray or meditate. It is relatively quiet once in the chapel. You can still hear noise from the other tourists outside. Parking is limited so you might have to battle with that.Written July 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Dana OVerona, KY64 contributionsA nice drive if you're leaving Phoenix and heading North. It was our first glimpse of the rock formations and the red dirt. Places to pull off and enjoy the scenery. A couple of trails to hike.Written June 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Liza GrayWorld7 contributionsFor the price of gas, you'll feel like you're in a live version of Cars. In fact, we played the theme to Cars while we were driving the byway. It's just gorgeous. Highly recommend that you do this at approaching sundown.Written July 6, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- laurasK1091GF16 contributionsGreat peaceful place to visit. Looking for introspection and a place of prayer - look no further. This is a beautiful location with prayer flags, prayer wheels and many places for meditation.Written May 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- on_the_go_98765Tucson17,485 contributionsThe Cinco de Mayo Festival was in full swing, Mariachis were entertaining the crowds, dancers were whirling in a blaze of color and fabric, and everywhere all physical spaces were occupied by tourists (packed as tight together as a can of sardines) poised with cameras clicking away.
Maybe in the future this may feel more comfortable but not this year, not yet (for us, at least). Both sides of the road has a Tlaquepaque "village" and all were the scenes of Mexican festivities. Dancers were practicing their steps and a great deal of ethnic pride was on display.
It was s thrill for us to see the variety of ages participating (the little ones are way too adorable) and to admire their gorgeous costumes.Written June 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Michele C1 contributionCorrect address for the location is

There are some nice areas to see sunset but this is easy and convenient. There is a paid parking lot I think about $3 I would bring cash to make it easier. The area can get a little crowded and most people stand. This spot is not the vortex. The vortex is at the beginning part of the road as you head up the hill. There is a small parking lot to walk up to the vortex. You can hike it from the vista parking lot which is about .5 mile hike. The weather was great with no clouds in sky which in some ways made the sunset nice but not amazing. Sometimes clouds can add a nice dimension to the sunset. One thing I would do next time is actually go in the morning for sunrise. When the sun rises and hits Thunder Mountain makes it look great. We were there after sunrise and the colors on the rocks looked great.Written June 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Ali Van DChicago, IL346 contributionsThis is a great shopping area, especially for tourists. There are many interesting shops to walk through as well as places to eat. Very fun!Written March 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- neslaw1Baltimore, MD12,812 contributionsThe road has degraded over the years causing it to be appropriately deemed "rugged" by Pink jeep. You certainly can't take your own vehicle unless is it a raised 4 wheel drive. The views are spectacular. We took the 2.5 Rim tour and the passengers in the back who are sitting facing the sides have a much bumpier ride than the driver and front seat passenger. You are warned off if you have a bad back and I would agree that there are other great rides and views such that missing this will not ruin your trip but if you do take it, it can make your trip!!Written June 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Rosemary S11 contributionsGreat tour guide w/Pink Jeep tours...Rick knows the area and knows the history and the flora and fauna. Very bumpy ride the last 10 miles...buckle up and hold on. Furnished walking sticks were helpful. Plenty of time to see the ruins and pictographs, and take photos. Evening tour is spectacular w/the lighting on the red rocks from the setting sun. Get there before Memorial Day to beat the crowds.Written May 31, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sin AguayoSan Bernardino, CA241 contributionsI hope you are ready to do some serious off roading. Get your 4x4 and hit this trail. An absolute gem. Yes this is one of many trails you can hit in Sedona. It is long and about medium difficulty, but even an amateur like myself can get through it. I took my #TundraTRDPro and it took it like a champ. Mind you my Tundra is stock. No modifications whatsoever. Once you get near the top the view is incredible. A Rock at the top which is very easy to reach by foot provides stunning... and I mean STUNNING view of the whole valley. Intimidating yet serene, it is a place one must see. Obviously the ascend took longer than the descent. And not the road is not narrow, providing plenty of room for two way traffic. At any point you can make a stop, get off and enjoy nature. Not heavily trafficked by vehicles either which is perfect. And best of all... it is FREE! - eal12345Omaha, NE10 contributionsTotally worth the stop! This place is super fun. All four of our children absolutely loved it. The guys who work there are very sweet. My only regret is that we didn’t arrive before the grills closed at four pm. Would have been fun to cook up our catch.Written March 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Tiff M7 contributionsThe parking lot for bell rock was full so we parked at this trail. We could still see bell rock and part of cathedral rock from here. The sunset from this trail was so beautiful!Written May 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
