What a brilliant evening! We were transported back in time to 1930s opulence. Upstairs in the VIP lounge (and I’m not sure how we managed that) we were looked after by the Maitre D’ Leo who charmed his way round the guests. The food was better than expected and the wine flowed generously all evening.
Once the show started we were bowled over by all the performers and the band. The standard of the dancing was superb. We were entertained by singing, dancing, traditional music and of course the Argentinian tango. A real highlight of our trip.

We liked the atmosphere of the room and the wait staff seemed friendly. The food was just ok and the caesar salad had nothing in common with a caesar salad. The steak was ok but a bit tough, and dessert was just average. The show was fine. What we noted was during the request for tips which they projected on to a screen at the end of the show they noted that the tipping is to the discretion of the gentlemen. I understand that it is a different culture but also a little dated in 2023. I think guest may be a better term as I saw many groups of women and I am sure they could figure out a tip without male guidance

Went to this show as only a maximum of 10 mins walk from La Brigada where we had dinner. Small authentic place with a great tango show along with a good female singer, Peruvian band and an apparent icon of days gone by Hugo Marcel. We booked the package which included the show and 2 drinks per person but in reality the Malbec kept flowing. Worth a visit and gives you an idea of real tango and the passion that is Buenos Aires. Well organised and they avoid the hassle of trying to get taxis at the end and have shuttle buses to the main hotels etc.

I pre-booked the deluxe dinner and show package directly through their website. I guess not many people book that, because we got the primo table in the entire place – directly in front of the centre of the stage. The price included a bottle of sparkling wine and a bottle of red wine, which was way too much for 2 of us...we never even got to the red wine. Transfer from, and back to, our hotel was included, and was very prompt and clean.

The food was very good, but the portions were too big. The smoked salmon appetizer could have been a dinner for someone with a moderate appetite. And my steak was a monster. I couldn't finish it, and I love meat! Service throughout the meal was prompt except for dessert, which arrived waaaay past the end of our meal, almost when the show was over.

The show was great. It featured all the different tango styles going thru time from the late 1800's or early 1900's (?) until present day. Although the stage is small, the 8 dancers weren't bumping into each other. They're also very creative in utilizing some of the floor area down near our table, as well as a long bar right behind us.

All in all it was an enjoyable evening, albeit a bit pricey. If you are doing the show without the dinner option, your seats will be far back in one part of the "theatre" where a few parts of the act won't be fully visible.

We chose Complejo Tango after reading the Tango restaurant reviews on Trip Advisor and didn’t want a venue with hundreds of people. For $100 US per person, Luis promised us a great table, group Tango lesson, dinner and taxi fare both ways from our Palermo area( outside their shuttle range) hotel. He delivered above expectations on all promises. The group Tango lesson was basic, but the instructor divided up participants by gender and had everyone Tangoing in a relatively small area with very few collisions by the end of the lesson. This was quite a feat for a group Tango. To do more complex moves, you would need one on one extensive instructions. Our table was butted up against the stage and we could feel the rush of air from the acrobatic moves of the three talented professional dancers. The theme was Tango through the years and carried signs like Tango 1900, The 20’s, etc. and proceeded to perform well choreographed Tangos in period costumes up to the present. The dancers were of “Dancing with the Stars” professionals quality. The 4 piece band was equally talented and the silver haired singer sounded like Tony Bennett.
The food and wine were not 5 star quality, but not bad. You go there primarily for the Tango experience anyway and we were very happy with our smaller venue choice.

The food was ok but too expensive, the tomatoes were super scarce, all souces were too much and the show was good but too long to tell you the truth, we got tired and got back home earlier than expected, too bad...

On the late evening of December 19, 2018, my wife and I (67 & 65 years old), were celebrating our visit to Buenos Aires at Catulo Tango restaurant.
I can tell that this was unforgettable experience! Even the the food and wine was absolutely delicious the the main exiting was the Tango show ranging from classic tango to modern tango.
Excellent performance of the dancers, a Impeccable live music, and singers!
The staff was nice and really kept our table organized and anything we asked was there in seconds. The atmosphere is beautiful.
We had amazing time and I am so glad to put this review so everybody who looking for a place to celebrate tango in Buenos Aires will find this place. By the way we have package which included tickets and round trip transportation for reasonable price.

Tango is a must in Buenos Aires. The tango show was excellent, well designed, with great performers: singers, dancers and music performers. The experience takes place in a beautiful theater that is a historic building and includes fine food and wine. Wardrobe and staging depict Buenos Aires in the 1920s and 30s. We highly recommend the show. Do not miss it.

I was stopped on the street and tod about the 9:30pm show. Glad my friend and I decided to go. We knew enough Spanish for it to be funny but we didn't catch all of it. That was ok though! The comedians picked on people in the audience and people were cool with it. They really grilled on us being Americans but it was funny. You really just have to roll with the flow!

This is a blind dinner experience - intense on all the senses, you enjoy a fun comedy (with a singer included) while dining.

High quality performance on the night we visited this club. Welcoming owner who took time to greet us and show his sincere appreciation for coming. Attractive ambiance. Full house so reservations are recommended. Dont let the short taxi drive away be a deterrent as you wont be disappointed.

This is the show you want to see if you want to see something more authentic, and not an overproduced show, high up on a stage. After an enjoyable dinner and a short 10 min dance lesson, dancers perform right on the floor close to the tables similar to a milonga (a social gathering where people tango). Enesemble and solo dances are performed in several styles. The footwork is absolutely amazing, and it's nice to be so close to the dancers. When I told locals where I went, they responded with, oh good you saw the real tango. An excellent evening out.

I met colleagues there and it was fantastic. Underground modern Tango, we heard a killer orchestra and knew amazing people.
