Planetarium Galileo Galilei
The Galileo Galilei planetarium, commonly known as Planetario, is located in Parque Tres de Febrero (3 February Park) in the Palermo district of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is situated close to Egyptian Park in the green belt of Palermo Neighborhood of Buenos Aires which is studded with beautiful parks, monuments and places of interest like Botanical Garden, Zoological Garden, Japanese Garden, Rose Garden, Tres February Park and lakes, Park Plaza Germany, Park Plaza Pakistan, Park Plaza Iran, Egyptian Park, etc.
Planetarium opened in 1967, hosting astronomical displays & exhibitions, plus external light shows. The building has five floors, six staircases and a 20 metres (66 ft) diameter room with 360 seats. The most important feature of the Planetarium is that its museum has a piece of lunar rock which was brought back to Earth by the Apollo XI mission and gifted to the planetarium by American President, Richard Nixon.
