I had an incredible time on this one-day safari! From start to finish, everything was well-organized, making it a stress-free and enjoyable experience. The convenience of hotel pickup and drop-off was a huge plus, allowing me to relax and fully immerse myself in the adventure.

Once on the safari, I was amazed by the variety of African wildlife I got to see up close. From majestic elephants and graceful giraffes to playful zebras and many more, it was truly a breathtaking experience. The guides were knowledgeable and passionate, sharing fascinating insights about the animals and their habitats.

The entire trip was seamless, with plenty of time to take photos and soak in the beauty of the landscape. If you're looking for a memorable, hassle-free safari experience, I highly recommend this tour!

Thando from Moafrika Tours delivered clear slow-paced commentary and expert animal spotting. He managed the viewing time allowing us all to take time to spot animals and look at the nature. Highly recommend this company and guide for this tour!

We travelled as a family of 8 and stayed in the beautiful Kwa Maritane hotel as part of this special family reunion trip.

Our two wonderful driver/guides Shumba (day1) and Thomas (day 2 ) were excellent during the two covered drives in the park and spotted lots of animals including impala, zebras, elephants and giraffes and rhinos amongst the trees. They were very knowledgeable, good fun and knew their way around the large Pilanesberg area. The private transfers enabled us to travel in a large mini-bus with a separate luggage trailer so the van was very spacious for us all.

We had lots of time for photos and a comfort stops both days on all 4 drives. The late afternoon and early morning drives, provided by a different company but included in our package, allowed us to see giraffes and elephants up close as they surrounded our truck and we even saw a leopard basking in the evening sun. The sun-set on day 1 was magnificent.

We had the pleasure of seeing hippos out of the water on the day 2 drive with Thomas as it was overcast as well as two baby giraffes. The hotel was lovely and the staff were even nicer especially at lunch and dinner. The food at dinner and breakfast was very good and there was a good selection available in the buffet/carvery for both meals. There is a lovely terraced area to dine on and we had both lunch and dinner there. We saw a herd of impala come in to use the watering hole just below the hotel dining room terrace whilst we had dinner. My only tip is that if you have elderly/people with limited mobility people in your party that you request a room close to the dining room/reception area as the complex is quite hilly.
Overall we enjoyed our hotel and drives in the park and the time as a family to experience the gorgeous Pilanesberg and its beautiful animals with Shumba and Thomas as our guides.

We are so glad we booked this tour. Could easily have been a 5 star experience except for a couple of things. The van ride going to and from Pilanesberg was packed full and not very comfortable, luckily only a 2 hour trip with a bathroom/coffee stop mid way. Also we arrived about an hour before our room was ready, so it was a little annoying to sit around with our bags on a lovely hot day by the pool without having a place to change into bathing suits and get comfortable. But otherwise, we had a GREAT time! The game drives in the park were so fun. Trucks can fit 9 passengers, but we only had 7 and we all became fast friends from around the world. Our ranger was incredibly knowledgeable and we saw tons of animals. The lodge was beautiful. The food was amazing! And we loved our cute cabin with the huge tub and outdoor shower. I can’t imagine a better way to experience an African safari with luxury accommodations in so little time and without breaking the bank.

As mentioned in my title, we were overall very happy with the experience with just one niggle - the booking mentioned we would have a breakfast at a game reserve after the experience. In the end we were provided with a spread of food for breakfast on a table after the experience in the bush. This was nice, but not entirely what I had expected in comparison to a hot and freshly cooked breakfast and, as a woman, I would have appreciated the breakfast in a lodge with the opportunity to use a bathroom! As it was, we were out from 4.30am and back at our own private lodge around 9.30am so I was unable to use a toilet in this time - something to bear in mind. My partner (male) went behind a bush to relieve himself, as did another male on the hot air balloon trip.

    Now, to go backwards...!

We were booked on a Wed with a back up date of Thurs. Wed was cancelled due to bad weather - we did not receive a call or email to advise of this directly but when I checked with my lodge after our evening game trip they informed us the hot air balloon people had called them to advise it was cancelled. We were then called by the hot air balloon people in our room the next day and told that Thurs was fully booked and can we do Fri (our last day) instead. This was a little inconvenient as we had to check out that day but we didn't want to miss out so we went ahead.

We then received whatsapp communication directly to confirm timings etc which was good. Our pick up driver actually arrived 15 mins early but was happy to wait. I wonder if this is intentional to give you time to get ready if you have overslept!?!

Private drive to the take off place and the staff there were all very good and polite and it felt very safe. Lovely experience but the wind was very gentle so we didn't travel as far as we had expected. Cannot be helped. Experience itself was lovely. Not at all scary like I thought and not bumpy for take off or landing.

The drive back to our lodge was excellent and was indeed like a mini game drive. Our drive (Sami, I believe his name was) was great and very knowledgable. We got lucky and saw lots of things on the drive including a very close encounter with elephants.

I would recommend but I think the itinerary needs to be updated to advise re breakfast being something in the bush and toilet facilities not available etc.

I really enjoyed the excursion. We were picked up from the hotel in a comfortable air-conditioned bus. We saw many animals and savannah. We drove around the territory in an open jeep with a guide who told us everything in detail and knew the territory of the park. A small lunch was included in the excursion.

The Pilanesberg National Park tour was truly a one-of-a-kind experience! 🌟

Our awesome team of drivers whisked us away in a comfy van at 6am, so we could start our Safari adventure by 9am. Right on time at 9am, our incredible guide T—affectionately known as "the one and only"—welcomed us with open arms. T’s expert knowledge of every animal, reptile, and plant we encountered was absolutely unmatched. This trip made me feel like a kid again, exploring my backyard—just with the added bonus of having beautiful game all around!

For lunch around 12pm, we had a front-row seat to a group of Zebras—talk about a lunch with a view! 🦓 Afterwards, we headed out to see more of the Big 5 Game.

Just a heads up—the weather was quite hot after 12pm, so make sure to wear sleeves and sunscreen if you're traveling during this time, and drink plenty of water. No worries though, as water is provided on the tour! Africa Moja even provided our group with binoculars, which I noticed other tours didn’t have. Trust me, those binoculars made a big difference in seeing even more of the wildlife up close.

If you’re looking for a stress-free and fun Safari Day Trip, book with Africa Moja. They are definitely top-notch! 👍

The best tour experience you could ever book!

The most incredible tour guide I've ever had - Chris! Chris picked me up from my residence at 6:00am and we drove 2.5 hours to Pilanesberg from Johannesburg. Along the way, Chris had an endless vault of knowledge about the surrounding areas and its history - making the drive seem a lot quicker!

When we arrived at Pilanesberg, I joined a 9-seater open air 4x4 with 8 other travelers who booked from other tours. The tour group that took us around Pilanesberg was led by Kgabo Safaris. The guide, Dumi, was brilliant. He was very knowledgable, professional, and most of all patient. Dumi taught us all so much with his easy way of communicating and vast knowledge of all things South Africa. Dumi was incredibly friendly with a dry sense of humor that put everyone in a good mood. After 3 hours of touring, we stopped for lunch where I met back up with Chris.

I said farewell to my Kgabo Safari friends and went with Chris to a new lunch spot. On the way to lunch, we stopped by multiple look-out areas which are fenced in and allow you to see over the water and really take in the beauty of the park. Chris provided binoculars which helped a ton! We ate lunch at Legends, which is a resort/restaurant that overlooks the park with fabulous views. After lunch, Chris and I continued in his SUV around areas of the park I hadn't yet seen. After 4 more hours of touring around the park, we called it a day and Chris drove me back to my residence.

I highly recommend Cashan Africa Tours! Chris and Penny plan out everything so you don't have anything to worry about - you can solely enjoy the park and all of the beauty it offers! Chris' knowledge of ecology, geology, geography, history, etc make this trip totally worthwhile as you understand everything you are witnessing throughout the day and learning along the way!

The trip was well worth it! From pick up to drop off the experience was above expectations. Jason was punctual from the beginning, he took the time to educate us about the towns we passed along the way. Spacious seating to catch a nap there and back was much appreciated! The tour was great although we didn’t see the big 5 considering the rain, our guide BK was knowledgeable and really put in an effort to make sure we got good pictures and a little education too. All in all it was a day well spent and worth the value.
Bottom line: yes, I would go again!

Thank you Jason and Deeprift Ventours for this amazing trip hope to see you in the future!

We had a great time. We did the tour with James who was amazing, he spotted lots of animals, gave us plenty of information. We missed the cats but we really enjoyed it. Communication was great, no complaints. The place we had lunch was also good. Highly recommended! We will do it again.

We did this safari tour in Pilanesberg National Park and I am glad that we were given the opportunity. Our guide was super friendly and helpful and a great driver. He knew what to look for in the National Park and had exceptional tracking skills. MoAfrika made this safari tour really niice for us when they arranged everything well ahead of time.

I had a long weekend after a week of work and would highly recommend this tour and the agency. The tour included everything you'd need for the 3 days, including transfer from your hotel (or airport), meals, and game drives arranged from the lodge and the tour group itself. Pilanesberg itself was incredible, and we saw 4 out of the big 5 while we were there. found that messaging through WhatsApp was the best way to contact MoAfrika (the number is on their official website).

The only thing I would mention is to be proactive about communicating with the staff. On the first day of the tour, I was picked up at my hotel and placed on a bus where I ended up being the only 3-day tour (the others were on the 1 day). As soon as I mentioned it to the tour guide, I was straightened out, but if I hadn't then there might have been some confusion. So, communicate well, communicate often, but expect an amazing time.

The Ivory Tree Lodge, where I stayed for 3 days, was an incredible location and well worth the cost. This is reviewed separately.
