- NortonsBirmingham, UK105 contributionsAbsolutely gorgeous beach, although there was some litter around, which was a shame. Beautiful scenery but be careful on the access road, as there are some huge potholes.Written January 11, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ragesinnHolland, OH24 contributionsMall is nice with plenty of stores of all types, but a commercial mall that charges for toilets is not needed.Written January 17, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - .Kathryn BLondon16 contributionsThe beach was covered in ants so it was not a place to linger. There is not really a view from the pier as the walkway is too low down so it's obscured by the rocks. It does however have a nice grassy picnic spot with braais and shade next to the pier. You can watch the helicopters going to and from the heliport next door.Written March 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lessam2016Richards Bay, South Africa14 contributionsThis is a good place for tourist but it need more touch up so that it can be at the standard and you need a 4x4 car as the road is sandy and there was a place were you drove near the big lack and if you came late the water usually fill up and you need to drive careful. There is utshwayelo( kraals used to catch fishes) as people along there most are in employed and they sell those fishes.Written April 4, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SwazipondEswatini (Swaziland)108 contributionsI’m sure that on the weekends and holidays Naval Island is packed. We hit the beach midweek and we had it completely to ourselves! We laid in the sand, Swam, played ukulele and enjoyed the afternoon.
The water was easy to swim in, gentle waves and no strong current. We did some snorkeling near each jetty and we saw plenty of fish, but the water was a little murky in some places.
The best activity was just wading in the warm water in the sun. It was a bonus that we could park close enough to see our car while we were swimming.
We also spotted beautiful bird playing in the trees around us. It was an enjoyable experience. I suggest that you hit this beach midweek, early in the day.Written March 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Russell4422Stratford-upon-Avon, UK112 contributionsWe went on one of two trails both about 5km and 2 hours. It was well signposted & although two or three bridges were broken we were able to navigate our way round. The leaflets pointing out things have not been reprinting so we undoubtedly missed things. Unfortunately we only glimpsed two animals & saw no hippos.Written February 13, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Barbara AWashington DC, DC191 contributionsWe had 4 transports with Basweli and they were great. We loved talking to Nduduzo and Mazambi as they drove us to excursions arranged by Thula Thula Private Game Reserve. They arrived on time, the cars were exceptionally comfortable, and they were professional and solicitous of our needs.Written August 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
