Coming from East to West we did the full loop. Make sure you use the America Park Pass to enter free. You can also buy at the park and use for a year. If Military it is free.

This is monsoon season so make sure prepared for the pop up showers. Don't want to get caught outside. Stop at the first visitor centers and get the maps if you have not researched before to figure our what sights you wants to explore. We spend half a day and did about 3/4's and was tired but happy.

Seeing the rain rolling over the lands and clouds to keep heat down was awesome. Also got to see double rainbows.

Currently the Blue Mesa area is closed for a couple of weeks check the National Park website for updates.

This a must do but it is a bunch of walking.

This free museum was a very interesting place to spend some time at. They have several rooms of some great displays. You also get some good info and maps about the area.

So glad we found this place. Rhonda and her granddaughters, Ariel and Hailey were so helpful. We dug some amazing rocks that will be more special than if we just purchased them at a store. Our grandson loved it! Highly recommend. Their prices for rocks are great. We will be back!

Shop Here! Friendly staff and a superb selection of petrified wood, fish fossils, geodes, jewelry, pottery, stone carvings, wood carvings and on and on. The store is large and there’s an outdoor area showcasing larger petrified wood specimens. Outside there is a magnificent swing with carved bears on either end as the swing supports.

We purchased a petrified wood, two carved wooden animals and a fish fossil. All at great prices. The stores in the National Park were almost double these prices.

We stopped in to check out the Painted Desert Indian Center on a recent visit to Petrified Forest Nat'l Park. The outside is entertaining and has a lot of old Route 66 type kitsch. The shop itself has a nice selection of a variety of are-specific items like Turquoise jewelry, polished/processed rocks, and petrifired wood and more. It was a nice visit.

This is your typical souvenir shop in the West. We went in looking for agates and geodes for my niece who makes jewelry. Found exactly what were were looking for at prices in line with all of the other places we stopped. Asked for a restroom and was told that the well was not working so the restrooms were closed but from other reviews it looks like they have no public restrooms.

I would never have dreamed of this landscape. A great paved walking path makes it accessible from the road. Definitely a must-see in the Petrified Forest.

In keeping with the Route 66 theme, there are a number of kitschy gift shop stores at the southern entrance/exit of PFNP. Which one you visit is entirely up to you. However, this one may have the single funniest picture from PFNP. Check it out.

My family and I are traveling the Route 66 path and this cute little shop was one of our stops. It is a wonderful and welcoming experience that starts as soon as you walk in the door. My daughter had a great time looking at the fish tank. But do not take my word for it see for yourself. I know you will not be disappointed. The owner is very sweet and works with you on all the prices in her shop. They have alot more than candy. They have alot of things for everyone.

There are a few large dinosaur and concrete statues around Holbrook and many are in better shape. You can't get very close to most of these, either. But they are the most bizarre, with one dino eating a mannequin.
There are two ostrich, but they are predictably smelly and best left alone.
We stopped in the rock shop and bought a few pieces of petrified wood to take home. Probably not the best rock shop in town, but it was OK.
