We recently hiked at this park- it was a beautiful sunny day and we always hike in the morning- was fun meeting other people on the trail- the flowers were in bloom too so that made it special too.
The Go John trail is a longer hike than some of the others in the park, and allows for horses, so start early in the morning and bring plenty of water!

Excellent facilities - rest rooms, water, nature center and normally staffed by a McDowell Sonoran Conservancy volunteer, who will suggest trails and show directions on the trail map.
You can select a loop on local trails up to about 25 miles in length (3-4 hours), or take connector trails to other parts of the Preserve, and to the McDowell Mountain Regional Park.

Majestic and panoramic valley desert views, wildlife and easy hiking draw visitors and locals to popular Pinnacle Peak Park.
Walking and hiking are my favorite activities so I was delighted to find Pinnacle Peak Park about a mile from where I was staying.

With the help of the Park Ranger we chose the Apache Wash Loop, about 6 miles long through mostly flat open terrain with views of surrounding mountains.
