While this is a long excursion, it’s worth it! Oscar did a great job pacing this experience which was the perfect combination of culture, knowledge and fun. My favorite part was the stop to see the hummingbirds which was a complete surprise (spoiler alert) and other beautiful bird species. And of course the zip line and natural springs at the end of the trip was perfecto! Would definitely recommend.

Excellent day, enjoying all three destinations. We stopped first at the Doka coffee farm and arrived early before other tourists and enjoyed a lovely breakfast overlooking the gardens. Next to the volcano under clear blue skies which was incredible. Finally the Waterfall and gardens for a fab lunch on the terrace. Hummingbirds, butterflies, big cats and then the waterfalls.
Our tour guide, Donald and the driver even stopped by the road on the way as a small boy had spotted a sloth in a tree. We got off and saw the sloth with her baby and managed to take amazing photos

Abdul was great tour guide! Loved the experience. La Paz Park is beautiful, clean, and convenient. Lunch was great. I enjoyed being on a bus no more than 90 minutes to see nature. The other experiences are much further from San Jose.

What a wonderful tour! Oscar was an outstanding tour guide who really personalized the experience for everyone in our group. He kept his energy level high all day which was quite a feat because it is nearly 14 hours long. It was great to see all the animals in the wild and natural wonders along the way. We had plenty of snacks and stops along the drive. Zip lining in La Fortuna and the Hot Springs were highlights. Would highly recommend!

I planned on doing the tour on short notice and the team around Oldemar (one of the few tour companies that has offers for solo-travelers) replied swiftly and worked on my booking. However, my plans changed and even then I was met with understanding and excellent customer service. Thank you again for your understanding!

My partner and I had an awesome day. We met our guide to find we were the only participants. We went to a beautiful coffee plantation where we sampled and then purchased some coffee. From there we went to the waterfalls and gardens. We had lunch at the restaurant in the park. The area is beautiful. Our guide showed us all kinds of plants and and animals. He told us about Costa Rica history while we traveled. He was friendly, accommodating and extremely knowledgeable. The lunch was terrific. I would highly recommend this tour.

We had the good fortune to be the only ones signed up for this trip, so we got a private tour with Ricardo. He was so informative & spoke excellent English. We learned a lot about Costa Rican, history, botany, agriculture, and yes, the volcano.
Poas itself was enveloped in clouds, which we knew was a possibility before we went. We got only a couple of glimpses of the turquoise lagoon in the crater. However, the drive up was beautiful, & Ricardo made an unexpected stop at a coffee plantation, where we got to sample rich Costa Rican coffee (I bought 3 bags).
A final note about the wonderful staff at Poas. There is a Red Cross station there, & one of the volunteers noted my 73 year old husband walking slowly. He offered to drive us to the crater & back, even tho it’s less than half a mile. My husband was very appreciative of his kindness.

This was a good tour, Juan made sure we were taken care of and is very knowledgeable. We had a separate guide at the Cloud Forest who was also very good. Would recommend this tour to folks who are staying in San Jose, and need to be back in San Jose the same night. Beware the drive is long, and bumpy at some parts, but the scenery is amazing.

Very professional and safe tour. It’s a long drive, but worth it to raft the world famous Rio Pacuare. Meal was typical Costarican food and was yummy. Van and rafting equipment top notch. Come dressed in your bathing suit under your clothes. Bring a change clothes, heavy duty wet socks/shoes, and a towel to shower with if you wish. If you only do one exhilarating excursion, do this one. Thank you Roy at Destination Services for planning my trip. Highly recommend.

I've never booked an official tour before--I typically like to explore on my own, but I can't emphasize enough how great this tour was! Our guide clearly loved his job and he was knowledgable and friendly (and funny!)--his energy was absolutely joyful! Besides the volcano, we got to visit landmarks and see parts of the country that we would have probably never seen on our own, and the lunch spot was perfect and delicious. The volcano itself was stunning--not as much hiking as I had expected, as the path is just on one side of the main crater, but it was serene and awe-inspiring, and we were given plenty of time to appreciate it. There were also several stops and surprises along the drive, and the fact that they picked us up and dropped us off right in front of our AirBnb rental was incredibly convenient. It was mine and my friend's last full day in Cost Rica, and it couldn't have been any better. :)

My wife and I did the Monteverde and Arenal volcano and hot springs tour from San Jose which were graciously donated by A&E to a benefit auction we attended. Our tour guide and driver were great! They knew all the best spots to stop for photos. We had nice tour companions each day. These tours are 14 hours long with a lot of driving, but we didn't feel rushed. Without an itinerary the first day was very long especially after having to ride along to drop off another group in Jaco then drive back to San Jose. We knew a little better what to expect the second tour and enjoyed it more. I would recommend doing one of the 3 day packages. Coming back to San Jose each night was taxing.

The visit to the Irazu Volcano was impressive. We were able to see the three craters. The morning was cloudy and foggy, but we were lucky enough that the fog had lifted for our time there was perfect timing and covered the whole area as we were ready to depart. The earlier you arrive the better. On the way back to San Jose we stopped at the Basilica de Los Angeles and it was beautiful and impressive. Our guide and driver Fernando Solar was excellent, professional and knowledgeable.

This was a very interesting experience. Lisette was our guide and she was extremely knowledgeable about all the flora and fauna of the rainforest. We were lucky to see a particular type of wild orchid blooming everywhere because it only blooms for twelve hours each cycle. I am not a bug lover, but we saw several parades of leaf cutter ants and with Lisette’s fascinating explanation, I developed an appreciation for the genius of these insects! A butterfly enclosure was interesting, and although we saw footprints of the resident tapir mother and baby, we didn’t see the animals themselves. But being a nature preserve, there is no guarantee any animals will make an appearance for our convenience!

The tram itself was a lovely way to see the forest. It was quiet and peaceful and Lisette was able to explain wonderful details about all the trees and flowers.

If you are looking for action, take the zip line. But if you are interested in learning about the minutiae of the forest, this is a fascinating outing.

Such a wonderful excursion. The shuttle was on time. We stayed at Airbnb and was only short walk to closest hotel on list. The shuttle ride to get to the adventure park too maybe 1.5hr. We we’re early so we stopped at a small store where we were able to take a short walk to the bridge and you could see many large crocodiles below. The scenery was gorgeous. We then traveled to the adventure park. We purchased the combo zip lining + ATV. We were split in groups of 4 for ATVs and had our own guide. If you chose ATVs, make sure u purchase face bandanna or bring your own. The trail is really dusty. There are lockers available to rent for personal items. It was a $10 (deposit) that will be returned at the end of the day. The guide instructs a brief safety tutorial and take u around test track to ensure you are comfortable with the ATV. You are lead down the trail single file. The trails include a lot of sharp turns, rocky terrain, water puddles, and small hills. You are literally riding through the jungle at one point. There is someone that rides ahead with professional camera to her all these amazing photos are you guys having a blast. You then park for a brisk 10 min walk to the waterfall. Apparently it was dry season when we went, but you can still see the waterfall. There a pool at the end of the waterfall that you have the option of jumping into. Omg! Definitely an experience. The guide instructs you in exactly where to step and how you should jump. Short ride back to front where you have fresh fruit and water waiting for you. The guide also carries water with him as well. A buffet style lunch was served. Food was really good.
Zip lining followed much. We were fitted with our equipment and placed in groups. We were driven to the first line in a tractor trailer. The guide provided clear and precise instructions mixed with a little humor to ensure everyone’s safety. There was a total of 10 lines. Instructions were given before each line. There a is rest stop 1/2 way where water is provided. Photo op on line 5 or 6 where you have to option to go upside down!!! The entire experience was absolutely amazing. It was my friend’s first time zip lining and riding and ATV and he really enjoyed himself. He could not stop thanking me for booking this excursion. Our pics between the two activities were purchased for $60 usd, totally worth it. They are emailed shortly after purchase. I would highly recommend this excursion. I would definitely go back. Thank you to the entire staff.
