- MaryFBDublin, Ireland223 contributionsThis is a short but interesting & informative tour. A good history & social explanation of Costa Rica.
The actors are very entertaining. Tour takes about 45 minutes. Only one English tour per day. Our tour was at 10am.
You can visit the lobby & coffee shop without taking the tour.Written September 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We only were able to take a tour and will plan to attend a concert or performance in the future. The Theater is built by an Italian architect and has several murals and symbols specific for Costa Rica. It is spectacular. Most impressive is the ongoing restoration work. The details and elements being restored are an exhibit on itself. Marble statues transported from Italy are beautiful, but the most interesting is the work of Costa Rican artist Juan Ramon Bonilla "Heroes de la Miseria" - an amazing sculpture of mother and child. This work shows the talent of Costa Ricans equal to the European school in emotional expression, skill and beauty. That was the highlight for us opening the whole new insight of this amazing country.
The restaurant is a lovely place to stop by for a great cup of coffee and delicious desserts. It is just beautiful.Written August 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
