BEST tour of the week! I was here a week and went on several tours (volcanoS, coffee, city, churches, museums and others!).
Dayana, the tour guide, was brilliant and full of informative facts! We were picked up at our hotel, taken for breakfast and then to the coast, where we boarded a large passenger boat and headed to Turtle Island!
On our way we saw islands that appeared to be a woman lying down in the water, a turtle and others (like when you look into the sky and see images in the clouds).
During the bus trip and also on the boat, Dayana filled our heads with relevant, important and detailed information! I am a History major but never studied Costa Rican history and was extremely impressed by her knowledge and rapport with us!
When we got to the island some of us went out snorkeling while a few remained on the island.
Snorkeling was delightful and the water felt incredible. After some snorkeling, I did a lot of swimming!
Meanwhile, on the island, they had fruits, drinks, snacks or people laid on the beach (there were towels, umbrellas and chairs to rent)! We later had a delicious lunch and finished up with coffee! It was heaven with no turtles! ;)

I had read reviews saying that "they abandon you on the beach." You're on a beach! What, do you want them to hold your hand there too? You have a bar, a restaurant, sand, a beach and swimming (Chad and I spent time, on chairs, near the water, taking turns buying rounds of pina coladas and margaritas).

Great tour with an AMAZING tour guide and a GREAT driver (pilot)!
    Thanks INSIDE TOURS!

This was a phenomenal way to spend 3.5 hours walking around downtown and perusing all the oddities. We had one of the best tour guides Andrea and she really connected with each of us individually and took her time to accommodate my husband's dietary restrictions. We appreciated the knowledge and the expertise navigating markets that we would've been reluctant to enter and lost trying to find our way out.

Perfect evening well spent with our knowledgeable guide Angel and our gracious at home host Eric. The walking tour through the historic central market, history of Sodas, National Theatre and historic downtown was entertaining and at the same time informative.
The cocktail class at Sloth Coffee and making new friends while enjoying traditional freshly prepared Costa Rican food was a truly satisfying experience. Great way to see the city! Highly recommended! Kudos to Eric and Angel !

Tortuguero is an incredible place to visit and this trip is a great way of accessing it with knowledgeable and very experienced guides. Pachira Lodge is a wonderful hotel with lots of wildlife within the grounds itself (monkeys, iguanas, bull frogs and more!). While the food is buffet style, the options are varied and change from day to day which is great. The WiFi did not work so well in my bedroom (23) but worked perfectly in other common areas. I think the Tripadvisor profile for this trip is somewhat misleading in parts as the admission fee to the National Park ($16) is NOT included but the Tripadvisor itinerary refers to it as being both included and not included which is confusing. Most other tour groups appeared to include the entry and were not required to pay at hotel reception. The trip is also bilingual as you join up with multiple other tour groups (not an issue but just something to note as Tripadvisor refers to tour language as English only). Finally, I was the only passenger (out of 50!) who returned to San José. All others met connections at the lunch stop on the return journey. This wasn’t an issue for me as I needed to return to San José but alternative finishing options should be flagged. Finally, I was not dropped off at my hotel in San José and had to walk through busy central San José with luggage which was less than ideal after a long day travelling.

This trip was a real treat. Be prepared to experience a lot of riding in a van as San Jose is 2 hours from La Fortuna but the views along the way are nice. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of every place we visited and was really nice. We started by going to the Ox cart factory to learn the history of Ox carts, how they're made and the art surrounding the town. Then there was the drive to La Fortuna where we had a very nice lunch at a scenic restaurant. From there we went to view the Arenal volcano. Views were amazing and there weren't a lot of people out there. Lastly, we went to the Baldi hot springs to relax and unwind. Again, not very crowded and we were able to spend a good amount of time in all the springs- there were even some water slides! For the hot springs, I would recommend bringing sandals so you're not walking around barefoot. You can rent a towel or bring your own- I should have rented one so that I didn't have a wet towel to take back with me. You also have the time to shower and change clothes if you would like although the showers in the women's locker rooms did not work well. There was room in the back of the van if we packed a bag. After the springs, we had a buffet dinner at the resort. It wasn't the greatest dinner but it was food nonetheless. I went at the end of October so it showered off and on but not enough to delay any part of the trip. Overall a really good trip, I would give it 4.5/5 stars.

This trip was absolutely amazing and so worth it! Our tour guide, Fernando, was so thorough and engaging an taught us so much about the country and its history. We had so much fun and he went out of his way to make sure we saw a sloth. Everything was so well planned and on schedule and the hot springs was such a great way to end the day. The food was delicious too and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone!

Hayro was a great guide. Made an effort to keep things entertaining during the long drives. Was very knowledgeable about the wildlife in the rain forests around Arenal. Would recommend.

The volcano was covered in smoke but I still give this experience 10/10 the guide was so bubbly and sweet! When we got to the hot springs I was in love I didn’t want to leave we spent a good 4 hours there and it was therapeutic! The food was amazing (buffet style ) and drinks were great as well. This was probably my fav experience on the trip this far.

This was one of the best tours I have ever been on. This sanctuary is amazing. Our guide Eduardo was so knowledgeable and passionate about rehabbing, release, or just giving them the life these animals deserve.
This is a non-profit for ALL animals.
Eduardo was also well versed in their native plants, flowers and trees. Get the package with the lunch, it was delicious.

Amazing day tour! I can really recommend this day tour, it was a full day packed with incredible and stunning moments. The guide was super well organized and managed us perfectly through the day (his name was Garry). The tour starts early in the morning with breakfast at a coffee farm and finishes in the late afternoon after visiting the waterfalls. It was just fabulous!

Ismael was good and knew his subject well. We enjoyed looking for many birds that were new to us and
the carpenter bees and butterflies. I thoroughly enjoyed the sloth hunting even though they didn't seem too obliging showing their faces
