What travelers are saying
- PocketGuideOrangeville, Canada1,048 contributionsVery clean, large, tons of options - feels like an upscale American mall. Not too easy to access by foot but there is an overhead bridge to help clear busy trafficWritten March 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- deedee1951Chappaqua, NY563 contributionsA must visit for authentic restaurants and open air markets for produce, fish, meats etc. souvenir booths too. Crowded aisles but you get a sense of local shopping and food. Had wonderful lunch there . With lunch and strolling we spent about an hour. Local ice cream was great. No admission feeWritten February 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mike MSan Rafael de Escazu, Costa Rica20 contributionsA fancy place, expensive restaurants, law offices, high end stores and 3D movie theater. It's OK to walk through and maybe have an ice cream, but that is it.Written February 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Livin❤️lovin❤️life58 contributionsWe felt like family the minute we walked in. We had a delicious cup of coffee prepared by Emilio and some bread that Rita made. We sat and chatted with our tour guide, Emilio’s son (sorry can’t remember his name) and learned about him and his family and how he learned to speak English so well. After our tour which included the entire process, start to finish, Rita prepared an amazing lunch and we sat and ate with them. I have some food allergies and she took care of me. Thank you all so much! If you want to do an authentic tour, this is the one!!Written May 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- AimeeLallyPhoenix, AZ350 contributionsThe vendors are a little pushy but you'll find some good stuff here as there is a wide variety. Your typical Costa Rican souvenirs but also handmade local artist stuff.Written January 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Companion6055010 contributionsA cut above the usual tourist curios. Very helpful salesman (Irishman from Quebec living in San Jose) who went over the collection and took the time to explain the objects. Great range in prices from small gifts to major art work. Not far from all the museums in San Jose, worth the tripWritten November 20, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Aimee H13 contributionsLovely home made things sale. Good food, free range eggs, cheese etc. Not enough tables....almost felt like turf war trying to secure one. A good strategy is to buy food you can eat and walk with or get a table first and send partner to buy food. The market also felt homey in a very busy city away from home country. Some weekends are better than others. The breads looked incredible!!Written February 26, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Ricardo ArgüelloSan Jose, Costa Rica407 contributionsThis is the perfect place in the east side of San Jose if you want to grab something to eat: good restaurants, safe, a lot of parking space and a few stores.Written August 6, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Arturo_RPSan Jose, Costa Rica87 contributionsThis is a medium size mall located near the town of Moravia, to the north eastern side of San José. It has stores, cafés, restaurants, services, banks, a supermarket and a food court along with cinemas, all distributed across 4 floors. The stores are somewhat expensive, although you might find good prices sometimes. Bathrooms are located far from the food court and the restaurants, which is uncomfortable sometimes. It is connected to San José by bus lines of Moravia. Is a good place to walk around in a rainy day.Written April 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Cristina Edith P70 contributionsNice food court, many shops from big brands to shop business. You can find sort of everything in here. Tons of accessories for phones.Written January 21, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Bozeman-DublinTrim, Ireland8,423 contributionsWent here on my first night in San Jose on the advice of my hktel because I was told there would be lots of bars and restaurants here and plenty of choices.
There were. But not all were open. Those that were were pretty nice without being anything special and the prices were far higher than in the town centre.
Nevertheless it was a safe and pleasant place to eat and have a beer and meet fellow travellers. Not a bad option.Written May 29, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Guilberth BSan Jose, Costa Rica6 contributionsThe market is very nice and calm, lots of activities and areas to relax, food from vegan to some meats, also cooked food in the spot like pizza, double cheese tortillas, Gallo Pinto, ice cream, wraps, ceviche, and fresh vegetables and fruits. Bathrooms and accessibility.
Please drink the ginger beer or ginger chicha.
You are welcome.Written June 9, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - JotumKnoxville, TN1,402 contributionsNow a small museum, this was the house of a previous president who was a medical doctor and social reformer of Costa Rica. Not a lot to see, but interesting for a few minutes and the Russian embassy is across the street.Written February 26, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- kiasafaLos Angeles, CA1 contributionI happened to stumble on this place during my last vacation in CR. I have to say for a private collection it was very nice exhibit and displayed well. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for unique and beautiful art.Written February 6, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
