While we only had a couple of tropical blended drinks at this place while we waited for our taxi driver, the staff was friendly and welcoming. It was a good reprieve to get off the beach and was clean and charming.

No you don't get to pet or touch them but you do get to view them up close and learn anything you want to know. Ignacio ( I hope I got that right) was great, on top of being very knowledgeable about sloths he shared his life living in CR and cracked a joke or 2. We spend about an hour observing the sloths. When we got there the howler monkeys in the parking lot had us entertained for about 30 minutes. While we were inside with the sloths the monkeys traveled about 10 feet from us on a trail through the trees. It was up close, Ignacio had info about them too. It was worth the price of admission and we left extra. Also, the gift shop is the place to buy reasonable priced souvenirs and proceeds go to the sanctuary. The sanctuary is run solely on donations. If you are in the area you won't regret the visit. Side note: All of the sloths for different reasons are rescues that would not have and will not survive in the wild.

We stayed at the tree house for the night and fell in love with the forest, view and sight! A beautiful forest filled with wildlife and protected with love and dedication by Peter who knows every tree, animal and inch inside and out. It was a pleasure speaking with him, and we are thankful with him for protecting such a sacred space and bringing so much of himself to the experience. I am person generally scared of spiders and am not a total nature nut, but this was an experience worth having and I would totally repeat. I cannot wait to go back and thank you to Peter and his team for sharing!

I live in Costa Rica, and I had been there last year, is amazing the culture they have, and how they take care of the earth and animals much better than us, to much to learn from them, and so many things to buy to help them for they economy, and as a reminder, as the beautiful things they make, by hands,

Best thing we did in Tortuguero. We went with a guide as part of our stay at Aninga lodge. It is a short walk followed by a big staircase to get up to the viewing point.

There is also plenty of wildlife to see on the short walk. We saw the Blue Jeans frogs, Capuchins, amongst others.

Tarantula's Way is by far the best night excursion we ever did (and we did many). Chris is passionate about the creatures of the night and is more than willing to share his knowledge. The title of the company reveals the true passion of Chris, but he also has an eye for the less obvious creatures including plants. We really appreciated his knowledge as well as his storytelling. And above all his true respect for nature.

Amazing experience if you appreciate parrots and seeing other birds as well as we saw an interesting bird that is related to an owl (funny name I forget what it is called) and of coarse tucans. But I truly loved this place and what they are doing to help increase the population of the great green macaws. There are apparently around 100 in this area and then only about 1,000 in the rest of Central America. Also like that they are taking time to educate the locals about their mission! Between, I saw about 15 macaws while on a Caribe Horse tour on the Playa Chiquita beach this afternoon! It must be almond season as they were snacking away - pretty neat to see them around here. Thanks so much for doing this!

Toto and Laura have got an amazing knowledge about a species living in area. If U are interested to spot animals and plants which U probably wouldn't spot walking on your own that's the place for U. Warm welcome and people open to discuss that's what You will get visiting them.

It is worth to call earlier as not all taxi drivers know where is station

Hector was our guide and when he picked us up we were unsure what to expect. We were happily pleased. On the beach we arrive and many of the groups out there stayed together Due to the low amounts of turtles nesting at this time. Our guide went on the search and we stayed with another group where we learned what to look for and why the turtles do what they do. Our guid hector was the winner that day and found the turtle that was going to lay eggs so we got a front row seat to watch. It was a spectacular thing to see and the size of the turtle is amazing. Great for adults due to The long wait for the turtles to be ready and so the turtles won't be scared it's hard for kids it can take a hour or two before the turtle starts to lay eggs and you have to stay quiet and still so they won't e scared and run away.

This was a lovely walk recommended to us by our hotel, but we were somewhat disappointed to discover we couldn’t go out to the lookout due to construction. The ladies at the donation desk didn’t say anything even when we indicated we weren’t looking to go any further than that. We were unaware & unprepared to do the 1.5 hour trip beyond that. The 5-10 min walk to the viewpoint was all we had in mind.

I was happy to see that the donations were being used to improve the space for future visitors, but construction materials everywhere and blocked off trails dampened the experience a bit.

The rocks on the beach below were very sharp- sturdy footwear recommended. Enjoy!

I spent a wonderful first day in Costa Rica in the company of Miguel, a responsible and knowledgeable bird guide, and and I saw nearly 60 species of birds in three different locations in one day. The Nectar & Pollen Reserve is very well maintained and has a great setup for bird photography, and Miguel's coffee is very good too.I would have stayed longer if the rain had not interrupted my visit to the reserve that day.
