We cannot imagine visiting the country without at least a few days at this beautiful place. This is Costa Rican hospitality at its very best from the lovely rooms and great food to the wonderful riding. The horses never disappoint, and it’s due to the careful, compassionate training they have received and the daily care they receive. Kay and Esteban’s attention to every little detail always ensures that our stay is comfortable and fun. I had booked a private tour but wasn’t sure if friends of mine would be joining, but he was very gracious, willing to work with me to make everyone happy, and was communicative beforehand with any of my questions. In the end, it was just Andrey and me. He gave me a brief tutorial on how to ride/steer and off we went. We rode for a solid hour, cantering/galloping along the beach. And it was absolutely beautiful! Hot sun, ocean spray hitting you as the waves crash. We saw some different types of birds I’ve never seen before, and got to see some monkeys too! We stopped at a halfway point for some drinks to cool down before heading back. This time, we had an hour long ride with an unobstructed view of the sun setting along the horizon.
Andrey was kind enough to take pics and videos throughout and simply airdropped them to me. He also gave the option of listening to nature or offered up music so we listened to nice little playlist when we were walking along the volcano rocks. The horses were obviously well cared for, and were excellent listeners. Even for novice riders, their cantering was so smooth and they were easy to control.
Would definitely recommend long pants and long socks. Just make sure your legs are fully covered. I wore full length yoga pants and sneakers with my ankle socks and the couple inches of my ankle that was exposed got a little bruised from the stirrup (completely worth it!, I would do it again, lol) but could have been easily avoided if I had either my regular riding boots that went to my mid calf or if I had longer socks. I’d also recommend wearing a secured baseball hat for some shade from the sun and sunglasses to help protect your eyes from any sand flying up when you’re galloping behind someone.

I’m happy I got to experience this tour because now I have more deep knowledge about the Costa Rican culture and its amazing nature.

The course was a blast and we enjoyed seeing and hearing Howler monkeys. If you are concerned about safety, I think you will find their equipment and safety measures to be excellent. We had excellent communication during booking, and throughout the whole day, both he and his wife Laura were so kind and friendly! Ugo was very helpful with explaining everything that we needed to know throughout the trip…especially with safety as the water was rough while we were out. He kept our group of 4 together in the water, and pointed out the amazing marine life we saw below…we saw many colorful reef fish, a couple of spotted rays, a trumpet fish, and a whitetip reef shark! During the trip Ugo also chatted with us about Costa Rica in general, some good local restaurants to check out, and was just overall a great guide for the whole day. - ALJS7Chislehurst, UK58 contributionsHad an incredible day with Goose (Heine) - he took us to the Rio Celeste rainforest and waterfall, a coffee plantation and we even managed to see some sloths and a viper. We’re a family of five adults and we’ve all said it’s one of the most memorable days we’ve ever had. Goose is knowledgeable and really interesting with a fantastic sense of humour (he also took us for a traditional Costa Rican lunch which turned out to be the best food of our trip! He is a great teacher notnto mention professional and he also offers private tours of the area for a fantastic price. If you go with the hotels, they would be with a group and generally cost more.

For the ATV ride, Diego took us around the property for about 90 minutes. He talked to us a lot about the local culture and was a great guide. Got lots of great pictures for us. I’d recommend you bring something to cover your face because it gets very dusty.
For the ZipLine they bus you up to the starting point and you get to go through the canopy for 11 trips. The last 3 are tandem rides which was fun for me and my wife to go together.
