Had an incredible evening with the guys at Guti Tours, who were all so friendly, welcoming, engaging and fun. It's also clear that they love what they do and perhaps more importantly, have the animals' welfare at the forefront of everything they do. They were also incredibly helpful and easy to deal with and made the booking process very quick and hassle free.

When you visit Costa Rica, and specifically the Tamarindo area, you'll see people offering horse rides along the beaches all day long. After spending a few days at the beach it would seem that these animals are walked from end to end all day long, which in 35 degree heat doesn't seem particularly fair...

The horses at Guti Tours however (there are currently around 30) have not only been reared and trained by themselves, but are also all in incredible condition too and only taken out for one tourist tour each per day which seems alot more humane.

The tour itself was brilliant, starting at around 3pm in a very small group of 4, we went all along the coast from Avallena to Junquillal taking in not only beaches buy also a few lesser seen known sights that aren't on the radar of the average tourist, which in turn is a nice way of Guti Tours giving a little back to the local community.

There was no clock watching and everything was super relaxed - we even stopped at a little bar to give the sun time to go down before we rode back home against the sunset. The guys also offered to take pictures and videos on our phones and carried anything we didn't immediately need for us in their backpacks.

This really was an incredible evening and we felt that not only were Guti Tours very accomplished in what they do, but they love doing it. They really went the extra mile to make the experience personal for us and we'll definitely be back, next time we visit Costa Rica.

Great Guides, Wonderful Animals, Amazing Evening - 100% Recommended

We had the pleasure of a return trip to Costa Rica in late January. As always, Casagua Horse Tours was a major part of our trip. We cannot imagine visiting the country without at least a few days at this beautiful place. This is Costa Rican hospitality at its very best from the lovely rooms and great food to the wonderful riding. The horses never disappoint, and it’s due to the careful, compassionate training they have received and the daily care they receive. Kay and Esteban’s attention to every little detail always ensures that our stay is comfortable and fun. Trip #9 is in the works!

This tour is a must do! Danielle, Andrey, and their father took great care of us and we had an amazing time. I went on this tour with my brothers and it was a blast. The views were wonderful and we got to run the horses on the beach:) I highly recommend this tour, so much fun!

Kayak tours are scheduled based on the tide. We left the “home base” a little after 12:30pm and met our guide at the put-in location.

Ronney is an experienced guide including for deep sea fishing.

His knowledge if the area and it animal inhabitants is excellent and his sense of humor was a wonderful addition to the adventure.

After an an initial headwind, we paddled through the calm waters of the mangroves. There was a lovely variety of water birds.

We stopped at a partially submerged tree which was inhabited by small crabs with colorful claws.

After paddling a little further, we beached the kayaks and walked up less than 25 yards to see a large family of howler monkeys. They were foraging in the lower branches above our heads and did not seem disturbed by our quiet presence.

They ranged in size from a couple of large males, to a little one learning to forage on its own. There was a mom with a tiny baby, probably less than week old, clinging to her, and a noticeably pregnant one.

    What an experience.

On our way back, a bull shark swam passed us.

Let me start off by commenting on the owner, Alex, and his staff. From the moment we arrived for the afternoon, they welcomed us like we were long-time friends. Which made it easier since none of us had ever ziplined or ATV before. They encouraged us and guided us through, making our adventure more enjoyable and laughable. We finished by hanging out with Cookie, Alex's parrot and Jack, his dog. And had a fabulous meal which was prepared by Anna. We had never been to Costa Rica before and we were visiting from Calgary Alberta. We recommend checking it out.

Laura went above and beyond all expectations! She picked me up and dropped me off because I was the only one in my group going. Very nice. In the water she sees everything and makes sure to point it out for you. I've never seen an octopus and she found one! She offered to help with any needs we had for our trip.

If you are a newbie to surfing, you couldn't ask for a better instructor than Miguel.

He is a great teacher notnto mention professional and he also offers private tours of the area for a fantastic price. If you go with the hotels, they would be with a group and generally cost more.

I would advise that you book with him.

Had a great time riding ATVs and doing the ZipLine tour package. It ended up being about $120/person.

For the ATV ride, Diego took us around the property for about 90 minutes. He talked to us a lot about the local culture and was a great guide. Got lots of great pictures for us. I’d recommend you bring something to cover your face because it gets very dusty.

For the ZipLine they bus you up to the starting point and you get to go through the canopy for 11 trips. The last 3 are tandem rides which was fun for me and my wife to go together.

All in all it was really great and we would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun time and adventure

Had an incredible day with Goose (Heine) - he took us to the Rio Celeste rainforest and waterfall, a coffee plantation and we even managed to see some sloths and a viper. We’re a family of five adults and we’ve all said it’s one of the most memorable days we’ve ever had. Goose is knowledgeable and really interesting with a fantastic sense of humour (he also took us for a traditional Costa Rican lunch which turned out to be the best food of our trip! Highly recommended!!

When traveling to Jaco we used Cuchi Transfers and we could not have been happier. The trip started off terribly with our departure being delayed and we missed our connecting flight. I feared we would arrive late and have no driver when we did arrive. I emailed the driver Luis Guillen explaining our circumstances and within minutes he responded saying “no problem.” Not only was he waiting when we finally made it to San Jose but when I asked what I owed him for rescheduling the transfer once again he said “no problem.” He offered to stop and let us get groceries and stopped again to let us photograph crocodiles at the river. When we got to the condo that night we had a bigger problem, the owner had not left a key and our information with the security guard at the entrance gate. I spoke no Spanish and the guard spoke no English. Once again Luis to the rescue, rather than dropping us off, he took another 20 minutes of his time to not only explain our circumstances, but got on his phone and called the owner and didn’t drive away until he had the entire mess straightened out and we were safely inside for the night. When I asked once again what we owed him, he said only the agreed upon price of the transfer. We used his services the entire trip and he was always available, flexible, affordable, and on time.He gave us some great tips on Do it yourself activities and saved us money by using his services rather than paying the individual “tour “ prices for my large family. For a stress free trip skip the driving and call Luis, owner of Cuchi Transfers.
