The hike was far more strenuous than I expected - but that's my fault for underestimating what a "moderate hike" means and thinking I could handle it despite never having been hiking ever in my life. It would have been worth it if it culminated in swimming or a particularly breathtaking view, but while the waterfall was beautiful I don't think it was worth the exhausting speed-run we did through the rainforest.
The other parts of the trip made up for this, though. Our guide, Kevin Piña, was very personable and always willing to help us get the best pictures. At the sanctuary we saw three sloths, a couple poison dart frogs, and a family of toucans. And the swim at the first waterfall was absolutely delightful.

This tour was the highlight of our Costa Rica trip! We took our 3 kids aged 12, 10, and 7. We were a little stressed about our 7 year old on the white water tubing part, but it was still our favorite activity. The horse back riding was probably our least enjoyable. We ended the day at the hot springs which was the perfect spot to relax and take in the beautiful scenery.

This was a great hike! Enough difficulty to keep us entertained, with enough assistance & safety measures to prevent injuries for all levels.
The waterfall was amazing. The entire trek was beautiful, with plenty of water crossings to keep us cool. Sandstone & pumice rocks weren't terribly slippery. But be sure to wear your heavy traction water shoes.
Lunch was delicious, lots of options, including vegan!
Several adorable & friendly cats & dogs at the trailhead.
Just a fantastic trip!! Thank you so much, Dreamers team!!

    - The transportation was prompt and comfortable. Shout-out to our driver, Alfredo, who was very conscious of the bumps and made us feel safe.
    - Take a poncho or umbrella; if it rains on the hike, you will be soaked. Bug spray is a good idea for the hike and at the hot springs.
    - The 3-mile hike is strenuous because of the multiple built-in steps; think US National Park hiking without scrambles or switchbacks
    - Wear clothes that can get wet from the beginning--maybe even with your bathing suit underneath--and bring an EXTRA set of dry clothes that you leave on the bus until after the hot springs, which is the last stop.
    - You likely won't see many animals on the hike during rainy season, and there are only 2-3 stops to see the steam and boiling water spots. This was our least favorite part of the tour, even though I love hiking.
    - The waterfall is amazing, BUT there are hanging stairs, not just a bridge, to ascend/descend. Don't look around if you're afraid of heights. Had I known the height, I may not have taken the trek, but I took some deep breaths and stared at the back of my daughter's shirt. (If the water gets to a certain level because of excessive rain, you're not allowed to swim in the pool at the waterfall.)
    - The hot springs are a unique experience. I only put my feet in because I was finally dry and did not want to be wet again. 9 different pools at different temperatures. Bathrooms and changing rooms on site, which makes it nice.

Our guides were fun and made sure the whole family was having fun. The view at the top of the zip line was beautiful! We saw 3 howler monkeys that barked at us when we zipped by.

Ivan was an amazing guide! Even on a rainy day, when the water visibility was low, he made sure we saw ample wildlife. Of course, it was fascinating to float alongside the crocodile and learn about the many birds of the area, but my favorite was sitting still in the boat while several families of baby raccoons made appearances in the mangroves all around us! Ivan also brought cold water for us and sliced up a couple of fresh pineapples that he brought for our enjoyment. I highly recommend this tour!!

Great ride through the town and to some awesome beach spots! We got rained on for part of the trip but it was so much going through puddles and driving on the beach during the showers. We even saw crabs!

I loved this tour and it’s worth every dime! We were picked up right on time for the tour, our van was clean had AC and wifi. The drivers and tour guides were nice and helpful. They helped us cross the boarder and told us what to expect and how to be prepared. We saw a lot of cool things and learned a lot about the country. The included meals were delicious. We ordered our meals with the tour guide before we arrived at the restaurant so the food was hot and ready when we arrived! We had good opportunities to take photos. We couldn’t go to the volcano due to it being closed for safety so we went to a statue. They let us know about the change to the itinerary well in advance.

Our family of 8 adults loved this adventure. The zipline was a blast and the Hanging bridges were so beautiful. It was a rainy afternoon for the bridges, but nothing a poncho couldn't handle. I do suggest a guide, which if you book with Native's Way, you will receive. We were shuttled from Tamarindo and it was 3 hours, but the guide broke it up nicely on the way with a stop at a local bakery for cafe and sweets. The ride home was bit lengthy due to traffic on Liberia which added 2 hours to the total return. Pura Vida!

So much fun! We were a group of 20. Exactly what we had hoped for. Even in the rain! Wish we had better weather so we could enjoy the beaches but it was still such a blast! The guides were fun and kept it exciting for the teens and let them have fun (so much fun!!) while keeping an eye on me who didn’t have experience. They helped me gain confidence and by the end I could keep up with the boys! One of the favorite excursions of our whole group!

The captain and crew were so professional and amazing. They were all business and worked really hard for the bites we got. We landed 3 sailfish (our first!) and i reeled in a huge one. The boat had awesome shade and the breeze felt amazing thru the front windows. The gear was great and the snacks and lunch hit the spot. Such an awesome time. Will definitely do it again the next time we come!

Highly recommend this excursion & this company! The trip was fantastic and our guide, Luis, was great!! When he wasn’t guiding us through the rapids, he was teaching us about Costa Rica and the many beautiful things the country has to offer. The food was top notch. This company is so well organized. They even take multiple pictures of you throughout your rafting trip so that you don’t have to worry about bringing a camera! 100% must do when in Costa Rica.
