Had a great time on this tour. First, we stopped at Llanos de Cortes and had a nice dip in the plunge pool below the waterfall. Next we went on the hike, which ended in a very picturesque waterfall. Unfortunately, we weren't able to see many animals during that hike, but that's all up to chance and it was raining as well. I really enjoyed the last part of the tour where we visited the sloth sanctuary and saw a bunch of animals including 2 sloths, a toucan, some frogs and a butterfly garden.

Every facet of this trip from pickup to organization, communication and quality of the activities and beautiful buffet lunch, surpassed all of our expectations. Our wonderful coordinator Cesar and amazing driver Alfred kept us moving and let us know what to expect, and offered great tips all through a long but wonderful day. On the way back my wife and I kept saying how remiss we would have been to have missed out on this incredible experience. The day after, we still can’t believe how amazing it all was, how much we did in ONE day, and our boys absolutely loved it too. If you’re on the fence about spending the money, just do it! You won’t regret it, I promise.

This trip was an amazing adventure. We loved the waterfall, and the Mud experience plus all of the beautiful hot pools and jungle. Lunch was great with a really nice atmosphere. Alejandro was an amazing guide! Super knowledgable about the area, fluent in many languages, and excited to show us everything from volcanos to hummingbirds.

We had a great experience on Marlin del Rey III . The catamaran was not overbooked, so there was plenty of room to move around, the bartenders and rest of the staff were friendly and efficient, so there was never a wait for one’s next beverage or for some 2nd’s with the food choices.

We actually saw 2 different sightings of whales breaching the waters, water spouts, large tales and all. It was my birthday and one of the other passengers actually took a picture of my wife and I kissing with the sunsetting into the Pacific, it was a great way to spend a special occasion.

My husband and I took the private tour with Juan who was an excellent guide. He taught us about the local fruit trees and picked mango, jocote and tamarindo for us to try. He also pointed out the local howler monkeys, lizards and deer along the route. He made sure we were safe and having a good time and he was also patient and helped us with our Spanish. He makes a mean mago ensalada that we enjoyed during our break at Bahia de los Piratas. I highly recommend this tour and this company. Every one we dealt with were friendly and professional. But if you want a fantastic guide, ask for Juan!

This was a great tour and one of the highlights of our time in Costa Rica. We went to a beach requiring about a 15 min walk (apparently other tours went to "easier to reach" beaches that were much more crowded that ours, which only had two groups on it the entire night), and we had an amazing evening. The tour was informative but engaging, and we saw several turtles making their way to and from the beach, we saw two turtles digging their nest, and we saw several baby turtles making their way to the ocean. No bugs, nice hike (but wear closed toes shoes), and we got back to Taramindo at 10 (which reduced our dinner options). We got different perspectives from different tour agencies (one even suggesting that there wouldn't be too many turtles because of the moonlight, which just seemed silly), and we're so happy we picked this tour... knowledgable, respectful, and a unique experience!

The tour was so interesting and our driver/guide, Pablo, was so knowledgeable and helpful . His assistant was also excellent and the two of them really added the enjoyment of this beautiful place. The hike was a workout but worth it. Highly recommend.

La Muda Surf School was a highlight of my trip in Costa Rica. I went with my partner who had surf experience where it was my first time ever (a true beginner). The one-one attention was amazing as they could give him more advanced tips and focus on helping me with the very basics.

I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to surf in Tamarindo, with varying skill sets. You can also leave with some pretty cool pictures to document your time there. 10/10.

Great experience! Great people there to make sure your safety is a priority. Shout out to Caesar and Alonso, they made it very fun and enjoyable for us. We drove ourselves, so a little tricky to get there due to a stretch of unpaved roads. I would recommend this to everyone.

This was a wonderful, relaxing tour that exceeded my expectations. Our guide, Ivan was knowledgeable and friendly, as well as an expert at navigating the narrow canals of the estuary. We did the 7 AM tour. Pick-up and drop-off is included, but we decided to drive the 10 minutes from our Airbnb. Parking is free.

I honestly had no idea what to expect; this was part of my Valentine's gift to my ornithologist husband, so I knew he'd get to see some birds, but I wasn't prepared for the other-worldly nature of the Mangrove forest. Truly, it is a serene and magical place; the water is like glass, and the trees with their intricate root systems are mesmerizing. Wildlife we saw included a number of birds: wimbrel, reddish egret, tri-color heron, green heron, little blue heron, yellow-crowned night heron, white ibis, ringed kingfisher, belted kingfisher, plumbeous kite, common blackhawk, great blackhawk, black vulture, turkey vulture, common grackle, mangrove swallow, spotted sandpiper, willet, and yellow-naped parrot (at least my husband saw all of these through his binoculars--the rest of us probably saw at least 2/3 of them--the ones Ivan pointed out). We also saw and heard howler monkeys (Ivan called out to them so that they would call back), and got a glimpse of a small, baby crocodile, half-hidden by a branch. Aside from the other boat tours on the water, it was calm and peaceful. Along with his helpful commentary, Ivan provided cold bottled water and slices of delicious fresh pineapple that he cut up for us.

There were 10 of us passengers on the boat, and unfortunately, one woman had her iPhone on a selfie stick, and the phone slipped off into the water. There was nothing to be done, and I was glad she shared that she had her photos backed up on iCloud Photo. I suggest keeping all phones in your hand at all times!

One thing I noticed is that other boats seemed to have life jackets hanging from the ceiling and ours did not. The estuary isn't deep, but life jackets should still be available in case of emergency. A final note: Wear water shoes! We almost did, and then thought that because we'd be in the boat the whole time, it wouldn't be necessary. Turns out that boats can't get all the way to the dock, so you both enter and exit the boat by walking through knee-deep water. To avoid having to take shoes and socks off a couple of times, wear your flip flops or other water shoes.

All in all, this was a terrific tour. Highly recommend!
