What travelers are saying
- Ursula H13 contributionsWe stayed in this cute town for 10 days over Christmas rented scooters in Tamarino which were handy to get around. The beach is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. There are several restaurants bars as well as local bars we checked most of them out . The town is quiet which we liked and has everything we neededWritten December 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ralph CShanghai, China16 contributionsNice beach with plenty of chair and umbrella rentals. Close food places nearby and drinks on the beach. Only negative is “Carlos” our server from Nicaragua. Avoid him at all costs.Written February 22, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sheila FCapistrano Beach, California, United States20 contributionsA visit to the Monkey Park lets you see the animals they have rescued and find out their individual stories. We especially loved seeing the ocelot and margay but the spider monkey was also funny to watch. Your admission helps them to continue to help these animals and others that can no longer survive in the wild because they were either illegally adopted as pets or were harmed in accidents. A worker on the grounds was able to bring the deer closer to us so that we could get some amazing pictures and see her up close. He also helped my son to hold a chicken. It doesn't take long to go through the park, maybe a little over an hour.Written January 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Seaworthy-ChartersDana Point, CA141 contributionsWe took a family vacation to Costa Rica and since we run a fishing charter business ourselves, we wanted to fish the local waters. Signed up for a 3/4 fishing trip with a local team and took the entire family. The guys were great and took us to some of their favorite spots. Caught all kinds of fish, made great memories, and had the best day on the water! Thank you!Written October 28, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SanjeevShanToronto, Canada42 contributionsInteresting market. I originally thought it was a farmer's market but it's definitely more of a general market but the variety of wares that they are selling is diverse. Had one of the most delicious lemonades ever. Some of the jewelry and clothing they had there was very unique. And I liked the live music they had performing as well. We were in Tamarindo for almost a month and we went to the the market for the 3 Saturdays. I do miss going there :)

- laul0uSan Diego, CA39 contributionsWe only stayed in Tamarindo but did take some day trips. Tamarindo is a very cosmopolitan little town. Lots of good restaurants of different nationalities. The beaches were beautiful and everything is walkable. The best tour guide experience we had was with Blue Crab Water Advenures and Tours. They were very flexible and accomodating, where a lot of other tours are preset with no changing from the schedule. Paul was our guide and it helped immensely that he is from Boston which made communication a breeze, and he is very knowledgeable about everything Costa Rica.Written April 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jasmin M8 contributionsWe were so happy to have found secluded and well kept tennis/pickle ball courts near by our hotel. They have open play in the afternoons or you can reserve a court for mornings. They have a cafe and also rent equipment.
