Our holiday company booked this for us as part of our trip to Cost Rica while staying in La Fortuna
This was certainly one of the highlights of our trip, we had a fantastic experience with one of the staff there (i cant remember his name but he is a fellow Manchester United fan, so a top guy anyway 😉) he was super helpful and friendly and showed where the lockers are and the fresh towels and also showed us where the bar and restaurant was
The springs themselves are amazing! There are several sections to enjoy some include water falls. The natural rainforest backdrop is beautiful. Ideally you want to visit late afternoon early evening when it is getting dark, the area is tastefully lit up and make the experience all the more great!
Having read reviews of other hot springs near by, it would seem that this place is a cut above the rest as it certainly wasn't crowded and we never felt rushed or uncomfortable
    Highly recommend 👍

We had a great time at Proyecto Asis. The guide was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable, sharing about the important work of the sanctuary. We also did the volunteer activity where you prepare food for the animals and then watch them eat. Super fun!

We were very lucky to have William (one of the owners/founders) as our tour guidesl. What he doesn't know about the area, animals and flora and fauna isn't worth knowing! We could literally listen to him all day! He told us about the 1968 volcano eruption and the creation of lake Arenal. He also told us how the park was created from farming land and all the different animals that were there
Fortunately we got to see 3 sloths, a toucan and other beautiful birds as well as some poisonous frogs. William also took some beautiful and very professional photos and videos for us and carries around a handy telescope so you can see the animals from distance
We also had some very refreshing pineapple at the end of the walk
The guided tour was $35 a person and SO worth it! This is cash only
You must visit the trail, you will regret not doing it!

A great view of the volcano. Lots of activities. Perfect spot in CR. Our food at La Mansion was the best. It was hard to find a good local restaurant so ask a local tour guide. We could not find any ATM to dispense dollars. They had two banks but neither could allow us access to cash.

Wonderful 1/1.5 hour hike (if you take your time) around one side of the volcano. Lots of gorgeous views and wildlife all around. We ate an excellent lunch at the restaurant at the end.

We were pleasantly surprised with our second-floor spacious room, with all new marble tiling and new furniture. The bath was breathtaking and it included a soaking tub. The pools were warm and very well laid out with lush greenery to create little private alcoves. The food was great, breakfast was my favorite...get extra rice! The staff was always helpful and friendly.

We did the night tour with Brandon as many of the animals are nocturnal. It was amazing and Brandon helped my 17 year get some unbelievable photos that his fiends tagged as National Geographic. I think what made the tour even better was Brandon's passion as a guide. He LOVES his "office"! It was pitch black and he would say look over here and there was a viper hanging on a big leaf and the same color as the leaf. Great tour.

Book the riding tour with the guide. We learned all about sustainable agriculture in Costa Rica as we harvested our own vegetables. We saw three different monkey species and took pictures through a spotting glass. And then we rolled and baked our own tortillas, tortas, and entrees. Highly educational.

Zero physical effort for riding tour, but it can get hot. Hat provided, but bring sunscreen.

Absolutely amazing, a highlight of our trip - highly recommend. Hiked with my boyfriend and we saw 3 other couples on the entire hike. A great way to see incredible views of the volcano & surrounding jungle plus tons of wildlife without the crowds of the national park and "official" 1968 trail.
We did the hike in 4 hours because we were taking our time at each lookout point and taking lots of photos. It can definitely be done in 2-3 hours though.
It's $10 per person for entry, they do NOT accept credit cards.
The lady at the front will explain the trails but generally - do the big loop and if you encounter a turn, always turn right!
