Review of: Private & Customized ATV Rides and Hot Springs in Costa Rica
Best ATV experience! La Finca is the best!!
If you want to drive ATVs in Costa Rica make sure to do it with La Finca! We are a family of five with three teenage boys, and we had an absolute blast! Danny was our guide, and he was awesome. None of us had driven ATVs before so he gave us a lesson and off we went. Twenty four miles total; so amazing! Fourteen miles out via fields, gravel roads, dirt roads, some asphalt roads. We stopped at the hot springs for about an hour or so (no rush at all; we were able to take our time). There were others there as it was the week after Easter, but not overly crowded at all. We loved that others were there. It was so fun seeing everyone enjoying the hot springs. Perfect setting set deep in the rain forest. Monkeys overhead, a bar serving drinks, and six or seven hotspring pools. So fun (don't forget to bring your swimsuit along; towels are provided). Then ten miles back on the ATV for the return. We did the afternoon tour and saw the most gorgeous sun set over Mt. Arenal and opposite the sun set was the most beautiful full moon rising. We saw monkeys and toucans, too. Danny pointed out the wildlife along the way. We had dinner on the property, and the dinner was one of the best we had. This tour was a highlight for us! We absolutely loved it.

Review of: 1 day trip getting off the beaten path to Monteverde Rain Forest
Personalized low key trip after a red-eye
Our guide was Manuel B.—very friendly and kind soul. We improvised a bit since my husband and I had come in on a red eye and were exhausted: we needed a low-key day and we’re planning to stay in Monteverde rather than returning back to San Jose. We went on backroads to avoid traffic and drove past smaller towns and hillsides as we asked him more about what it was like to live here, and learned more about Costa Rica culture. Our first stop was to Puntarenas to see the ocean and cool our feet in the water. He found us some coconuts and we had a refreshing drink before driving up to Monteverde. Here we had a wonderful leisurely meal at the Open Kitchen cafe and went to the beautiful and charming Butterfly refuge. Wanting to get back to the hotel for dinner, we made a last stop at the coffee shop at the Monteverde cloud forest preserve. We sat on the porch at the café and listened to and watched multiple hummingbirds feeding. So peaceful and thrilling for us. Bird sounds filled the air. Then back to our hotel. Lovely personalized day! Manuel is a genuine and generous person and we glad to have met him. Wonderful experience!

Review of: Full day Tour a Volcan Poas with coffee tour at Starbucks Farm from San Jose
Perfect tour with a more perfect guide
My cousin and I recently had a short stay in San Jose, We chose this tour and had a MARVELOUS experience with our guide Giovanni. He arrived on time to pick us up from our hotel. From the hotel we headed up to the Volcano- before reaching our destination we stopped at this beautiful coffee shop that had some of the BEST coffee I've ever drank! The cafe overlooked a magnificent coffee farm. Next we stopped at La Paz waterfall and then onto Volcan Paos- the scenes were SPECTACULAR. Giovanni was the PERFECT tour guide! He was extremely personable and I felt like everyone knew him and the tour was very personal and friendly...Giovanni even got the owner Mariella of a local restaurant to create a beautiful fruit boquet for my cousin celebrating her birthday- it was TRULY a perfect day with a perfect guide!! Some things to note...the tour was filled with activity- there was minimal walking and was good for those that are in good shape but you dont need to be super fit- the roads are narrow and EVERYONE in San Jose drives agressively.

Review of: Half-Day Trip getting off the beaten path of Central Valley
Highly recommended
My nieces, mom, and I recently completed this tour. They were quick in contacting me immediately after the booking. After a small hiccup due to an error in the tour listing, the general manager José went above and beyond in making sure we were satisfied...and we were! We really did feel like we were out and about with a local friend. Our driver was friendly and safe and new the shortcuts to prevent getting stuck in traffic. If you are looking for a reliable and professional company that allows you to plan your own itinerary, then search no more!

ATV Volcano
This group was fantastic. Marcela and our crew were very detail oriented. They allowed us to see amazing views and jungle terrain. The ATV and hike was awesome. The hot springs could not have been better.

Review of: Day trip getting off the beaten path Waterfalls and Caverns
Incredible, book with Get a Local Friend!
If you are considering booking with Jose and Get a Local Friend, DO IT. Jose is an incredible guide and set my boyfriend and I up with the best experiences. He booked our ziplining tour in Monteverde and our guided trip to Manuel Antonio National Park, but he also took us on a guided ATV tour to a waterfall about an hour away from Manuel Antonio where we swam, went down natural slides, and jumped from cliffs. It was the highlight of our trip. We have to go back to Costa Rica soon to do all the other things he recommended!! Thank you Jose :)
