The Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower is located in Pudong Park in Lujiazui, a short walk from the metro station. It is 468m in height and is a key landmark in this city, and also a hot place for tourists to visit Shanghai. Surrounded by the Yangpu Bridge in the northeast and the Nanpu Bridge in the southwest, it creates a picture of 'twin dragons playing with pearls'. Besides coming here to see and "feel" the tower, another great view is from the Bund too!

There are three large spheres including the top sphere, known as the space module. And there are five smaller ones and three decorative spheres at the base. The entire structure rests on rich green grassland and gives the appearance of pearls shining on a jade plate.

Visitors not only can appreciate the panorama of the city but also enjoy a great time in the exciting and fun activities and enjoy delicious food from the featured restaurants there.

The walk to the entrance if by tour bus is half an hour. Once you get to the gate area, there's so many zigzag barriers that even on a not so busy day, you have to walk round and round on what otherwise would only be a few steps without the barriers.

This is the first Disneyland I've been to where you're allowed to bring in food.

Rides and queues inside are otherwise orderly. I only saw 3 people spitting on the ground (I was expecting more). A few people were smoking outside the designated smoking areas.

We spent 2 days here. This can actually be experienced in a day.

A pretty fun experience, for both little kids and adults.
The park has more attractions than Disneyland Shanghai. They have 2 big roller coasters, as well as many other attractions. They have attractions suited for kids, so it’s a great place for family trips. The food prices aren’t bad, and there are many places to get snacks and drinks, like ice cream, cotton candy and tanghulu.
The lines are pretty long during the weekends, so you can expect to be anywhere from half an hour to an hour in more popular rides, which is the only bad thing.

I stayed in the Hyatt so was able to enjoy both the inside and outer view. The architecture is what sets the building apart, combining oriental details with art deco touches. For me it is the most impressive of the 3 adjacent towers. Inside it is a sea of marble and gilt. The. Jew from the hotel reception on 54 is possibly best as there are large picture windows. If you go to the bar on 89 it’s less clear and some of the views are obstructed.
I’m or sure the skywalk is currently available as it was never mentioned, not that I would contemplate it for 1 second!

Wouldn’t go out of your way for it but it’s the fastest way into town and travels at 300km/hr.

Easy to purchase tickets from the machines using QR codes / Ali pay

I'm sitting here waiting for the race to start and I thought I'd take some time to write a detailed review.

    Pros:
-Many bathrooms (never a line in the bathrooms on the back straight)
    -good views
-easy to take your own stuff (chairs, tents, food, drinks)
    -public transit
    -crowd control
    -activities beyond the race
-prices on food and drink at the track were not as ridiculous as other venues for this kind of event
    Cons:
-Not enough food stands or food trucks. I have gone to many races in Montreal and it seemed everywhere had food trucks and drink stands. Here there were not enough. The line for the shake shack tents or Heineken tents was 100m+ at times. Recommend taking your own stuff. The sign says you can't bring in alcohol but I saw no clear evidence of it being confiscated at the security checkpoint. Before going I bought some gin and whiskey and mixed it in with sprite bottles and coke bottles, and the security told me to "take out my lighter" but I didn't have a lighter and they let me go
-Didi drop off points. Not a big deal, makes sense, but if you take a didi (Chinese Uber/Lyft if you aren't familiar) you'll have to be dropped off about 800m from the track, so know which side you need to be dropped off at so you don't end up walking an extra kilometer
-Video screens are few, far between, and too small. Montreal has large video screens all around the track where you can see what's going on on track while you're not at your seat or viewing area.
-Mobile Data is slow during F1 sessions due to overuse by the crowd. I'd recommend they offer more public wifi

"Juss Sports" is the official ticket vendor for the F1 Grand Prix and they start selling in January but the tickets sell out very fast. I had to use an app called xianyu ("lazy fish") to hire a broker who had first dibs on daily returned tickets on the Juss Sports website and I had to pay a small premium for this privilege.

You will need to assign your name and ID number to your ticket at this event and to enter your section you have to scan your face. You set this up at the track entrance at a tent with guys that take your picture and enter your passport info.

It's easy to get into sections that aren't yours after F1 is finished for the day to see the F4 and Porsche support races. Just find an entrance with no ushers and act like you're scanning your face correctly

The performance (Era2 Spirit of Shanghai) was excellent and seating was nice. The most expensive was at RMB800+ but we got the RMB580 tickets which was quite good as it is. Our hotel concierge helped us to book. Only regret the show as only 60 mins so would have been better if it was slightly longer.

I love a good view so I wasn't going to turn down the chance to experience the world's highest observatory deck! On the advice of friends I booked both the 118th observation floor and the 126th floor to see the damper room.

The views were great - I went in the morning on a clear day, and it wasn't too busy when I arrived. The damper room was very cool - I'm not sure the music/light show needs to be as long as it is, but the sculpture was beautiful.

Everything I found online said take exit 6 from Lujiazu station, but I found that brought me out in a weird place and you can get to/from the metro underground. Sadly I failed to register the exit number, but take a moment to read the maps and work it out on arrival. Tickets are bought at ground level, the entrance to the tower is in the basement. Bring your passport!

Q was our knowledgeable, friendly tour guide for half a day. We explored all the art deco buildings in the French Concession. The tour included a stop at a local xiao long bao eatery as well as a dessert place just before the tour ended. Q shared interesting tidbits and facts along the way. It was a new way to discover the old Shanghai. Highly recommended should you want a slightly different experience.

M2 organized a really fun and informative experience for the walking food tour. There was a huge variety of foods with a nice mix of walking and sitting. It was hot but we did stop in a few places with aircon. The food was all really good! Our guide, NanNan was really knowledgeable not only about the food but also about Shanghai in general. She told us about the local plants and traditional morning exercises that retirees do in the parks. It was a lovely experience! Would definitely recommend for any newcomers or visitors to Shanghai.
