The Bund is a must-see if you visit the planet Earth. Seriously, if you're traveling in China, you have to go to Shanghai to see The Bund. The scene with the wider river meandering by enormous new skyscrapers, with barge after barge passing by, in the water, will make you feel good about the future of Shanghai and civilization. If you were worried about the oceans rising and Shanghai getting flooded, well, visiting The Bund will take away your fears. It's a great place to walk, as well as take pictures. There's a lot of restaurants and other attractions in the area. It's beautiful day and night. The lights are incredible. The walkway is broad, so it's never too crowded. Take your camera and prepare to have your mind blown by contemporary beauty.

Four days before spring festival, I should have known it would get crowded so only I am to blame for that.

When we got there and entered it didn't seem too bad but pretty soon there was a massive crowd that seemed to be all headed in one direction. This was because there was a one-way-system to control the flow of the pedestrians. Not knowing this We ended up going against the crowd until we got to a barrier where the baoan stopped us going any further.

Even when we did realize that we had to go a certain direction it was hard to work our where that was as each... (let's call them alleyways) each alleyway looked very similar.

It wasn't unpleasant but by the time we got to the bridge there was easily 500 people ahead of us so we took the route that went past that area meaning we didn't get a decent view of that.

Incredible infrastructure. Beautiful lightning I was very impressed how high it is. I wasn't a cloudy day I couldn't see the top at the beginning but then did they clear up and wow. Shanghai must be so proud of that infrastructure. I was disappointed though there is no clear instructions in English how to get inside. I was lost and I didn't have the chance to go inside

Electric. Fun. Fascinating. Ever changing. Versatile. Busy. Big business. Shopping. Tourists. Numerous restaurants & dining opportunities. Several museums in the immediate area. Can be a little congested at times. Take public transportation if possible. Glorious views of The Bund area. Can pick-up a hop on / hop off bus from this area. All towers within walking distance. Very western feel, new & modern, sleek. Majority of people in this area speak some English. The night experience much different than day time so walk around & visit the area both times of day. Holidays the area will be busy so be prepared. The time you spend in the area will depend on your purpose could be an hour could be all day. You decide! Enjoy.

It is only an hour drive from Pudong, an old water town worth visiting. There were many cute little local cafes as well as western ones. We were glad to see the streets an bridges after sunset especially decorated for the new year.

Lovely visit. Not many exciting rides but nice to walk around. Food is not that good as it is of food court style. Better to dine at Disneytown. Mickey’s Parade was fun. Fireworks display at night was fantastic.

Loved this museum. Had lived in Shanghai for over a year before ever going. Wish I had been sooner and had taken visitors. The model of Shanghai is one of the most impressive things I have ever seen. Great rainy day, or bad air day activity.

Morning, afternoon, evening, or at night the river area is worth some of your time. The city views change minute by minute. The sights, the sounds, and experiences change with each step you take. Plenty of places to stop and sit or grab a coffee. Both sides of the river offer several venues for eating, drinking, and shopping. Several river cruise opportunities as well (day or night). Our recommendation, go anytime you can; however, be aware that holidays and dinner time (17:00-21:00) can be rather busy along the river, so mass transit will be your best option. If you have only 24 hours in the city, spend 30 minutes along the river, but be aware one could un-knowingly walk for hours along the river. Enjoy.

This is a part of the Bund, you will find many different buildings which look like European styles. I suggest spending about one hour taking a view at this.

    Very nicely designed buildings.

It is a good idea to set aside time to tour the area without rushing.

Stalls selling souvenirs and small shops in the area.

    Overall a great looking place.

Not crowded due to the coronavirus crisis. Most visitors wore breathing masks. Nice collection of sealife. Enjoyed watching the penguins being fed. Amazing sharks, rays, upside-down catfish, puffer fish, dancing jellyfish, and more. Signage in Chinese and English.

Best Shanghai development center by the city, Shanghai History, growth over the years, infrastructure plans, and water and sewer processing and reclamation. Air quality and controls.
