I showed them a photo of a velvet jacket and they tailored this perfectly, so much so that I had them make another.
I would highly recommend and defiantly would purchase again.

In fact , admission is FOC if you plan to just walk , eat and chill there , can avoid buying tickets . Fruit juice and dumplings is nice . - geo3Calgary, Canada2,144 contributionsThis is a great pedestrian street to explore, with some attractive architecture, some of it more than 100 years old and some of it very modern. If you get off the subway at the Nanjing Rd. East subway station, it's also the most interesting way of ending up at the Bund and the Huangpu River. At night this street is lit up beautifully.
If shopping is your thing, this is a good place to shop during the day.
The 'slightly sleazy' wording in the title is because, as I walked down the street in the evening, I was approached three separate times by attractive young women who 'wanted to practice their English'. If you are with a group or a family, as I was on a previous visit here in 2019, this won't happen to you, and it's a very safe street otherwise.

It is located in the old French concession area. The area has mainly retained the "authentic and original" feeling because it has not been reconstructed or rebuilt. Instead visitors will get to see buildings, shophouses, alleys and streets of the old French concession area with Chinese "culture".
It has now become famous as a "rabbit warren" of arts and crafts shops, with restaurants, bars, cafes, souvenir and boutique shops etc. It has become touristy but still a good place to have a feel of the local touch.

We browsed through stalls selling everything from handmade crafts to exotic spices, our senses delighting in the colors and fragrances that surrounded us. We sampled local street food, each bite a new adventure, a taste of Shanghai's rich culinary heritage.
One of the highlights of our exploration was the Old Town of Nanshi. Walking through the preserved Shikumen houses, we felt as though we had stepped back in time. To get the fake bags you should ask them to bring, as these items are not on display.
Also a good place to buy electronics , gadgets and glasses.
Some stores make custom made suits in the range of 250 us dollars, at a very good finishing and styles.
On the way back taxi drivers try to charge you crazy rates; better take the subway. Is is very easy and with English explanation.
Do t forget to haggle.
They asked me 1500 yuan for a pair of glasses and the final price came to 150!!!

Although we were only here for a couple of hours, it was no where near enough time to get through all the shops and food stalls and sights. August is a very busy time and there were many many people everywhere. The architecture was wonderful, and so much to see. Definitely worth the visit. Heping Hotel has been my favorite hotel in China since 2018. I met Zoey, their talented and excellent front desk operator who helped me a lot during my stay. China is changing rapidly since last I was there. Zoey was kind and informative. She made my visit in China much more easier. The room she gave me have impeccable street view.
