I live in Shanghai and have a 4, almost 5, year old daughter and I have taken her to this indoor basketball themed play zone twice. We visited first about a month after the grand opening and again in early 2017. On both occasions we stayed for about 4 hours! My daughter needed little supervision by me and played inside the play area for older children happily for hours (there are staff inside but parents are not allowed in). Also every hour or two there is a staff led group activity from shooting baskets with NBA mascots or cheerleading choreography or short and simple basketball clinics like free throws and the like. My daughter participated in several and seemed to enjoy them as did the other kids. I found the snack bar to be so much better than expected with water, gatorade, potato chips, pizza, spaghetti, fruit squeezes and the like. It is not cheap but then few such places in Shanghai are. It is located inside a mall in the Xintiandi area so a family could make a day of it, with lunch or dinner in the mall or the nearby walking area and several hours play time. There is also an NBA themed store associated with the play zone. Given there are hot days in summer and cold days in winter, wet and poor air quality days year round, this is a good place to take the kids to burn off some energy and for parents to while away the hours with a book or your tablet/phone (to use with wifi) or each other or a friend. There is a play area for the younger set and also for older kids. Best for elementary and preschool aged children.
