    Serene
    Great park. Great location for Lu Xun’s resting place. It is located at a quiet corner. The park however is pretty happening. People go there to dance and play badminton and even organized musical groups together.

    Close to Longhua temple and not crowded. Very serene.
    Most people won't come here even though it's right next to the Longhua temple. It's a park with memorials and sculptures meant to honor those who were executed for being communists. It's a large park with sculptures scattered around. There is a well curated museum in the center where you can learn more of the history.

    Harmonious, peaceful, popular and green park in Zhabei
    I enjoy walking in the park especially during mornings. There are canals and different walking paths, so you can always modify your route a bit. It's peaceful place in a crowded and sometimes even noisy city. If you want to see park in Shanghai and reload your energylevels, this can be the place to do that.

    Tomb of a legend of literature
    Visited the tomb of Lu Xun in the park by the same name. A seated sculpture of the man himself stands in front of a memorial wall, in front of which is his tomb. There are stone benches to sit on either side. It smelt badly of cigarettes - then I thought how poignant - for Lu Xun was never seen without a cigarette himself.

    A man who wrote some epic works.

    Nice place to stop a while.

    Being refurbished now. There is a traditional Chinese house which shares the site and is also being refurbished.

    Quiet!
    This temple is located in Nanxiang Ancient Town. Free entrance. Nice size for a temple and its grounds. The bell and drum towers were closed when we were there; what a pity. Not as crowded in this temple.

    lonely cemetary
    My son and I visited the Baoshan Cemetary by taking the subway on line 3 to Baoyang Road Station. Once you have exited the station turn left, and walk up the overhead pedestrian btridge. Cross at the pedestrian crossing next to the bridge, to get on the left hand side of Baoyang Road. The cemetary is a 15 minute walk (you have to cross 3 streets to get there). Look out for the brown tourist sign that states "Shanghai Liberation Memorial Hall" with a white outline of the memorial column. Another option may be to take a taxi from the railway station to this site.

    The entry is free, but there is a security gate which has to be passed. The garden around the column was good, and there was a museum a sort walk away to the right. We viewed the museum, but it was not very interesting. the exhibits were mainly about fighters from the district who had fought in the various wars. Everything at this site may be viewed in 20 minutes.
