This is a great place, you can feel the modern magic city. The Huangpu rive divided Shanghai into two parts and goes into the sea.

It is only an hour drive from Pudong, an old water town worth visiting. There were many cute little local cafes as well as western ones. We were glad to see the streets an bridges after sunset especially decorated for the new year.

This attraction is best done on foot. Depending on how far and what you want to cover, it could be as long as 7 kilometers.

The main draw for me was the old architecture, which is remnants from the French concession period. The local government has done a good job of preserving the buildings so that you can still get a flavor of how locals many decades ago.

There are plenty of eateries and coffee shops along the way. There are also shops selling paintings and other creative items.
The famous Xintiadi and Tianzifang are also part of this area.

This place is a maze, if you have an afternoon to stroll about and pick up knick knacks and small bites this charming area is for you. Lots of different vendors and shops selling mostly the same things but it's still a fun and easy experience.

We did not go in for tea. Was just outside the tea house admiring its menu and was really walking through while enjoying the lanterns. Not really interested in expensive tea at that time!!! However, this tea house looks really charming and its entrance is quite welcoming with an array of tea cups and tea sets to be admired and purchased.

probably one of the most advanced , newest boulevard in the world. Filled with new building on both sides, it would be a very enjoyable ride in the car on this road.

After few years of living in China, my tolerance to some things has already adjusted. However, I have to admit it wow one of the better new built “ancient” town I have visited. The roofs rising out of the water looks super impressive, all of the buildings around, gardeners etc give a very good vibe too. Actually this is a good destination to have few hours rest from the splendor of a big city life in Shanghai.

This building is located in downtown Puxi. Many like to come here just to take photos with the old building as the backdrop.

Interesting and well documented museum about one of the most internationally known cartoons writer of China. A pity there is not a books shop incorporated

This street began in the Ming Dynasty era. Today it is located next to Yuyuan (Yu Garden) and the City God Temple. Perfect place to visit to get a feel of original old Shanghai. There are antique shops, jewelry shops, Chinese attire shops, boutiques, souvenirs and cafes. Great street to slowly enjoy and if you find something you like, don’t forget to bargain!
