I was the only guest on our tour, so it was really a private excursion with way too much food. Some spicy, some unique, some familiar, some I would have otherwise never thought to try; some nice restaurants, some very local places, some street food. Sunny was so knowledgeable and her English is impeccable. She also helped recommend vegetarian restaurants for us. Definitely a tour to take if chance.

She took us to the VIP cruise area from where the view of Shanghai was absolutely spectacular. We also went to the Thai restaurant after. The whole trip was very amazing. - ResortstyleMelbourne8 contributionsI had a fantastic experience doing a bike tour in Vietnam and now I can add Shanghai to the list! The roads were easy to navigate with Charlie who was kind, respectful and informative for the entire trip. Charlie thought of everything and even stopped for extra food I wanted to try! So much history to the city and Charlie was very knowledgeable. So much to explore still but we covered a lot of ground. - Fatesh1 contributionWe are very pleased with the complimentary upgrade of cruise tickets which allowed us to avoid the crowd on another level. We get to enjoy almost the whole level of the cruise ourselves. Our guide Caroline is very friendly. She is able to provide us with information accurately about the building and history of the bund. We even asked her for food suggestion for our stay in Shanghai, she even went to search for the address for it. Hotpot is delicious with variety food item to choose from and is super suitable in such a cold weather and after blowing cold air from the cruise. She was also very patient as the fog had to lift for us to photograph the sights. The dinner that night was enjoyable and the dishes she had selected for our families were most delicious. - TLCMUM8 contributionsWe were picked up promptly at the time arranged. Nini (our guide) was very cheerful and very informative. Her English was good and we appreciated her local knowledge.
We really enjoyed the water town itself. Despite what I had read, the day we visited the village was not over-run with tourists even though it was a fine day. The local shops obviously cater for the tourist trade, but the shop owners live in the town (often above the shop) so this made it feel more authentic.
Our visit to the silk factory was informative, but more time was spent there than necessary. The process and products were fascinating.
The Chinese style dinner was tasty - at a restaurant in a bustling Chinese food precinct. We were in a corner that had storage shelves beside, but we enjoyed the cuisine. We did think we would be dining on the river, but this was not the case.
The river cruise is very pretty with all the buildings around the Bund lit up. It took less than an hour, but was a great experience.
Nini left us after the cruise and the driver returned us to our hotels. The only real negative of the day was the condition of the mini-van. It was older and had a lot of major squeaks and rattles, not enough seat belts, and very poor suspension. There were 3 of us in the back seat and by the end of the evening we had sore backs from the rough ride.
