- Soon Hwa WongSingapore, Singapore4 contributionsAfter 2 weeks on the road, a nice massage did wonders. SkinCity 5.5 was where I headed for when I got into Shanghai from Hangzhou/Huzhou. I was actually looking forward to it as I had a great experience the last time pre-Covid when I visited it for massage and facial. This time it was equally awesome. Professional and effective. Wished I could add another 30 mins to my 90 minutes booked but had to rush off for an appointment. Will certainly be back for more. If you don't know where to get a good massage at reasonable prices in Shanghai, go give it a try. I've gotten a lot of massages, and none have ever left me feeling this loose and pain-free. I was a little nervous because my lower back isn't so good and sometimes these Thai massages can be intense. It was intense, but Sal took care of me and really helped loosen that lower back up. About $65USD for 90 minutes. Rooms are really nice with well designed and furnished bathroom. Fitness room is quite small but equipped with all relevant training equipment. On the contrary the pool is really great and could be reason to do laps. But don´t forget your swim goggles, the water is strongly chlorinated. Sauna is sufficient and the relaxing area is really nice arranged. Breakfast is served in two restaurants. One western style and the other one asian style. I habe only visited the western stye restaurant which has a nice view on the Bund river. We both conked out within seconds and enjoyed a restful snooze. Lovely decor, thoughtful staff. The only quibble was that we had a terrible time finding it and no one we reached by phone had enough English to help us out. I took a first 90 min Chinese massage (more intense than usual massage, you can feel pain during the massage but it is very relaxing) session with Jenna, and two days after it was already feeling much better. This is much better than any massage I had before and I recommend it without any hesitation. The therapist was skillful and the massage was rejuvenating, I caught up with the much needed sleep! The entire premises is clean and neat. Toilet is five star hotel standard.
