What travelers are saying
- Courtney S4 contributionsIf I could give them 6 stars, I would have!!
The volunteers who keep this place well curated and alive are some of the kindest, most knowledgeable individuals you will meet. Each with their own amazing stories to tell and insight to the artifacts throughout this space.
There are artifacts here from as early as the Revolutionary War! And each display has been put together with a clear passion and desire to tell the story of our country and the countless men and women who gave their lives to protect our nations freedom.
They don't charge admission, but rather request a cash donation to view the museum. Please make sure you give what you can, as all of the proceeds go towards maintaining this vast collection. They will be breaking ground on an expansion to this facility, which will allow more of the artifacts to go on display. Truly a hidden gem and the best thing found in Huntsville to date!Written November 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They did a great job of matching music to the lights to create an immersive experience. I really want to go back and check out the gardens during the day.Written November 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cheryl GDawsonville, GA11 contributionsI had a fabulous time at the park. I would love to go back. The people at the park office were friendly. HOWEVER, I called to report an issue three times and no one has contacted me since. I noticed a strange completely duck-taped sleeping bag looking object thrown over the rock ledge at a viewing area right at the gorge/waterfall (not running at this time) at the end of the McKay trail. Then too, the markings were NOT good on the way up, going North right after crossing the creek/spring (dried up) the McKay Hollow Trail about .5 mile up the trail. Like many others, I saw where there were footprints going down the wrong treacherous path on the right which leads to a normally watery, slippery trench or run off ditch. Someone was nice enough, I finally realized, to try and put up a tiny barrier/wall of sticks and rocks on the path, but it was crumbling. So, I reinforced it to attempt and block the path. You have to take a sharp left up the mountain, but it is NOT marked well. I will definitely go back though!Written October 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- A HillFlorence, AL24 contributionsBridgestreet is a great area for shopping and dining! So many stores to shop at but for unique gifts visit the Southern Living Store. There was a splash pad area for families to enjoy or anyone I guess who feels the need to get wet. There is also a small train ride. The movie theater is great as well. Nice reclining chairs for movie watching! Great place to hang with family, friends, or date night!Written July 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wandeAtlanta, GA70 contributionsI went here with my 7 and 10 year old. Admission is free, and parking was plenty (went on a Monday morning though). We hiked around the lake (about 1.5 miles). The trail loops around the lake. Easy trail. The scenery was beautiful. We went at the end of September, and the leaves were just beginning to change color. Would be even more beautiful at the end of October. Kids had fun throwing rocks in the lake. There were many gardens along the path of the trail. Most were not in bloom as it was the fall season. Would be really pretty in late spring. There's a covered bridge, a chapel, an outdoor class room. There were benches along the path of the trail. Would visit again when in the area.Written October 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Mrs. Escape76 contributionsThe Huntsville Museum of Art is a haven for those who like to think outside the box. Many works that are full of profoundness and depth are displayed, as well as history on famous ones in another exhibit. I especially enjoyed the part on animation that was there at that time.
