Trails are amazing. We hiked to the bald eagle 🦅 nests, but unfortunately they weren’t home. Saw an alligator. There is a wonderful little restaurant with both in and outdoor seating. The food is delicious. Live music starts around 4:00. Ping pong tables. Dog friendly. Happy hour every day. Love this state park!!

The welcome center is a nice place to visit with an abundance of information.
The best part of my visit was the people who helped me look for information. Extremely nice and got me the information I needed.
    Awesome place.

Went to fish. Lot of fishing NO catching. Spent approx 4 hours fishing. My guess is 25 - 30 people fishing. I saw one sting ray and three undersized flounders total caught. Had one regular say 'the ole saying', You should have been there yesterday. I wasn't so I did not catch any fish.

Some of the hiking paths are closed for some reason, but still worth the hike. There is an interpretive center that has maps of the trails and the areas. Closed on weekends.

Had a wonderful tour of pier. Beautiful white sands beach. Everyone friendly. My husband should have worn sun block on his arms. I am golden though.

This was my first visit to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo at its new location. Nice facility, ample parking, many attractions for younger chldren as well as adults. A visit is well worth the time and expense.

The birding trail is here and there, not just on one spot. Get a map at the visitor centers. Saw and heard a great many birds that I have never seen before or even heard of. Used my Merlin app to identify them by their songs!

We decided to take a break from the beach and spend a day at Waterville USA on Wednesday to break up our trip. We got tickets online and also paid for a cabana. I wouldn't say a cabana is necessary as there are plenty of lounge chairs around the park, but it was nice to have a personal server to bring food and drinks and to be able to take a relaxing break in private. First let me say that it wasn't overly crowded but it seemed a little crowded early in the day, but only because 3 of the slides were not working due to a water supply issue. They got that fixed around lunch time and from then on it didn't seem crowded at all. I think the longest we waited was maybe 10 minutes, but most times we walked straight on the slides or had a couple of minutes wait. They have 9 slides in total once they were all operational. The only negatives would be the lazy river, the wave pool, and the food. The lazy river doesn't have much current, it's relaxing but would be nice if it moved a little faster. The wave pool is not very wavy. I don't know that I'd call those waves. My son loves the wave pools at other water parks but we barely spent time in this one. Also the food was average theme park food at best, but that's to be expected. I feel like for the price we paid we more than got our money's worth. We would definitely come back again.

Wonderful history and interpretive signs to guide your journey. Make sure to go to the top of the fort for the great views of the ocean as the boats are just about silent as they go by very close to shore.

We visit this dog park every day that we are in the Gulf Shore and Orange beach areas. We travel with our dogs who need to get out and run a bit. This is a friendly dog park, very popular and can be very busy at times. It’s great socialization for the dogs and often several or more dogs get up a crazy game of chase to wear them all out eventually. Mornings are a bit quieter there. Afternoons are typically pretty busy with people dropping in with their dogs after work from say 4pm on to until dusk. There is shade, two water stations for the dogs, trees and large open spaces for running and fetching, refuse bags and disposal stations as well as seating.

Collin at orange beach was the man! Friendly, polite, hard working we couldn’t have asked for any better. He was always checking on us and all of his other customers throughout the day. And made sure we had a great spot everyday for our little girl to enjoy the beach. which meant the world to us, especially since it was her first time. She loved when he stopped by and talked to her.

Interesting decor, fun holes, beautiful landscape. We tried 3 different putt-putts in Orange Beach/Gulf Shores and this one was the best, by far.

This grocery store has everything you could possibly need from a fresh deli sandwich fresh sushi, fresh salad bar remember the further you get from the beach is the more affordable things are so you might want to find a Publix further away you’ll get more value for your money

Coming back in oct and was curious if the water is still warm emough to swim in , thanks
Answer: That’s very subjective (everyone has a different comfort level) but we have usually found the water to be quite nice through the third week of October. We have gone in the water without too much effort even during the first week of November, but that’s pushing it. Ironically, you might find the Gulf water to be warmer at times than outdoor pools since the late October nights can get quite cool.
