- Grace C5 contributionsI did the full day small group Montenegro tour from Dubrovnik back in July, hitting up Perast, Kotor, and Budva. It was an excellent tour, and I felt like I had enough time in all 3 places (Kotor was my favorite -- make sure you do the hike up to the viewpoint!). In particular, Andrew/Andrei was an amazing driver and engaging guide. We came across some pretty bad traffic, but he knew all of the backroads and shortcuts, and he saved us so much waiting. Who knows how long the other tour buses we passed were stuck on the road! The tour stayed perfectly on schedule. Our guide was really good at explaining life in Montenegro, its history and all the beautiful places we stopped at and viewed. Lake Skadar is truly stunning and we saw many species of birds. - KanaghaKumarSan Francisco, CA8 contributionsMy Montenegro trip turned out to be a very memorable journey, despite being a last-minute decision. I decided to take help from Montemare travel, and right from the start, they were very responsive.
After I spoke with Milica over the phone, I felt at ease and trusted them to provide a custom tour itinerary to match my interests. I was also mentioned that the itinerary was flexible and I was able to customize it along the way by adding/removing spots as per my interests and changing weather. Milica also accompanied to receive me from the airport. Bojan, also my guide, was a gem of a person, very knowledgeable and he drove me to all the beautiful spots and ensured that I was comfortable during the tours. I'm grateful for the wonderful recommendations for trying delicious authentic vegetarian dishes during the tours and for capturing beautiful memories. Fortunately, the weather was sunny or favorable on most days, except for the day we headed to Zabljak, when we encountered a huge thunderstorm. Still managed to visit Ostrog Monastery amidst heavy rains!!! By the time we reached Black Lake, the weather had mostly cleared, and hence was able to enjoy its beauty. Given the limited time I had, I decided to allow them to book hotels for my stay, although I also had the option to book them on my own, which seemed like a good alternative. My personal favorites of the trip were Kotor, Perast, Stari Bar, Lovcen national park, Black lake, Lipa cave and Cetinje. Only thing was I had to cut short my trip by a day due to limited time. The coach was comfortable with a couple of cafe/toilet stops both ways.
Rafting was definitely fun, if a little tame for me personally.
Lovely paddle down the most beautiful Tara Canyon.
Stop off for refreshment and swimming next to the waterfall.
Food was basic and as expected ‘local Montenegro’.
Cold meats and cheese for breakfast. Meat or fish for lunch, with soup.
Fish was delicious, but meat was very fatty. Another family complained and they brought out a leaner cut of meat.
Perfect trip for a family - even younger ones from age 5 were ok, as were non-swimmers.
Safety briefing was ‘brief’. Not a clue what the drill was if we actually went in the river, but it was very tame paddling so perhaps wasn’t a worry.
Full day 6.50am pick up and drop back by 8.30pm.
Good value for money.

descending down the verticals, sliding down the waterfalls and all of that in beautifull nature around you. Feel like you are in some kind of jungle. Janko explained us some basic rules of canyoning,
he taught us how to tie knots, checked every time is everything put corectly and we felt such adrenaline but knew that we are perfectly safe with him, which is very important to me. I went few times with diferent guides but I find this one were the best in Montenegro! Won't change them most definitely! He stopped off at a lesser know viewpoint on the way which was nice.
On arrival at Vineyard Dabovic, we were greeted by Adriana, one of the owners, she was friendly and made us feel so welcome. She took the time to explain the process and the ethos of the vineyard.
We can only say he had the most wonderful time enjoying home cooked Montenegrin foods of which there was plenty and was delicious. And of course sampling the vineyards own wine and liquor of which were all of high quality. All whilst listening to local and traditional music and enjoying the company of Mirko and Adriana. We even bought some wine and liquor to take back with us, it was too good.

That was an unpleasant bus tour, but the private tour with Cruiser Taxi is definitely the way to enjoy and get the most out of Montenegro.
