One of the most interesting places in Iran, especially for those who are intrested in religion& history of zoroastrians. Though just 10% of the population is practicing this religion and old burial customs are forbidden, for sure people should know more about this place& the religious beliefs, about the influence of prophet Zarathustra in the development of zoroastrianism.

An ancient building inside a nice yard full of trees and a pond in the middle. The ceremonies and the history are unique and the atmosphere inside and outside the building is calm and relaxing. The idea of a fire burning for centuries is weird and marvelous.

Yazd city is considered to be one of the oldest cities of Iran and one of the best desert cities. It’s the second historical city in the world after Venice in Italy. Yazd is known as the “City of Windcatchers” and “Bride of the Desert”. It is the city of different cultures and religions and its cultural inhabitants live peacefully together. I reccommend especially to just wander in the Old Town and maybe even get lost, on every step you can find something interesting.

If you have 2 days in Yazd, do not skip this nice garden. Some parts of it needs more attention, but you can enjoy the traditional garden and the windcatcher. Ticket required

The Jāmeh Mosque of Yazd is the grand, congregational mosque which is depicted on the obverse of the Iranian 200 rials banknote. Entrance was for free which was nice surprise comparing to other places.

Highly recommended to everyone interested in historical roots of pre-Islamic Iranian civilization, it's customs and traditions. Also very informative regarding the contemporary life of Zoroastrian minority. Very impressive, it is like travelling back in time without a time machine.

Yazd Water Museum is located in the former elegant mansion. Here, you can learn about water management system in Yazd and other dry areas of Iran.
I was little disappointed after visit there. Little neglected, place and museum with bug potential but needs improvement.

This village is famous for its beautiful old texture and old houses. The houses of this village are nested in some cases on several floors, which is an interesting example of the architecture of the past of this land. There are many artifacts left in the village, some of which are still relatively intact and usable, including the old caravansary.

Shir Kuh(Taft) peak with 4075 meters height in Yazd province, which is located in the center of Iran and is surrounded by desert on all sides. Shir Kuh Peak is one of the 1515 most prominent peaks in the world. Although it is mentioned in terms of the division of the individual mountains of Iran, it is in fact part of the central mountain range. Due to its proximity to desert, this peak has strong and dry winds on some days of the year.
