The ancient city of Heraclea located on the outskirts of Bitola, which was founded by King Philip II of Macedonia in 4th century BC. Much less well preserved than Stobi and a lot smaller; work is ongoing to preserve the buildings and mosaics

We walked “The Path of the First World War” driving to park at the top and walking downhill. It is a very good path, and there is an information hut half way down with lots of information. The forest is beautiful with lots of pine trees.

Built 1830 with special permission of the Turkish authorities, supposed to be modest and nondescript building, lower than the surrounding mosques. Therefore, it was dug into the ground and it was built in just four months with donations from Bitola Christians.
The interior of the church is richly played with fascinating galleries on the second floor, Carved throne, carved iconostasis, and pulpit.
It is the main church in Bitola.
Entrance fee for tourists - 50 denars

This pedestrianised street in central Bitola has everything you could want from delightful little shops and restuarants to larger department stores. If you wander off the main drag down the little side alleys you will stumble across oldBitola as it was under Ottoman rule.

You cannot miss this impressive monument on the outskirts of Bitola. It was originally built by the French in memory of their soldiers who lost their lives here during the First World War.

This impressive statue situated on the main street of Bitola is more normal size than the vast majority of statues in the capital Skopje and is a good land mark near the well known Clock tower.

The old quarter is definitely worth a wander. Talk about potential. The mosque is almost renovated. The old Ottoman baths are an atmospheric bar.

If you love old cars, motorcycles, bicycles, or antiques in general, this is a fun stop. It's a short taxi ride from town. Two family members showed us around the private collection answering our questions, or asking their father and then translating for us. We are not automotive experts, but some of the motorcycles are unusual. It was interesting to see the local village houses on the way to the museum. Inquire about rooms if you would like to stay here as an out of town option.

Large green area linking the walking street to (almost) the Zoo and Heracela Lyncestis. Plenty of children playgrounds.

    This was built in 1500s.
Since I remember, passing by it, this was in ruins. Few years ago it was renovated.
I've never been inside, nor will I go, I guess. But it's a landmark and anyone interested can enter by day.

This really only a badge on the outside of Goce Delchev's house - a Macedonian patriot and partisan fighting to throw off Turkish rule. You cannot go in so it is just a walk past this modest home.
