    Exceptional! World Class! Well Done!

Facility was immaculately clean and mind blowing!
If you are a motorcycle fan, this place is a must see!

Have a lot of Lotus Race cars too. Some something for the race car fans too.

Toured the Civil Rights Institute after going on the 3 hr Red Clay Civil Rights tour of Birmingham. Museum tours are timed and we purchased our tickets online a few days prior.
Both the Red Clay tour and museum were excellent.
There is a wealth of information presented at the museum with photos and Civil rights timeline in relation to other historical events of the time.
We spent about 2 1/2 hrs at the museum.

The McWane Science Center is a great place for kids and those who are young-at-heart, especially on days that are too hot, too cold, too windy, or too wet to play outside.

Parking is a little dicey sometimes, but I truly appreciate both the facility and the staff.

We were wondering if a stop here would be worthwhile in December when so little is in bloom. The answer is yes. There are lovely paved trails to walk. On a cold Saturday there were still many people enjoying the bare wonder of Nature at sleep.

The Japanese garden must be beautiful in the Spring. Right now the Zen garden needs a good rake out. I am glad we came here. Will return in warmer weather, if we are in town.

On a cold December day we made our first visit to see the statue of Vulcan which overlooks Birmingham from Red Mountain. He was created in 1902 for the St Louis World's Fair to promote the iron industry then flourishing in the city. Now he is a symbol of its past glory because the furnaces are long closed.

But he is a fun stop. An admission ticket will buy you entrance into a small museum that documents his and the city's history. Then you can take an elevator ride up to Vulcan's level which is about 10 stories up. Visitors can alternatively climb the stairs to the platform.

This would be a fun activity for kids.

This is a must-see for anyone interested in numerous periods and styles of art. The collection is so impressive. It ranges from European and American art on the first floor to pre Columbian, African, Native American, and Asian art on the second floor. The visitor will see works by American works by Durand, Inness, Twachtman, Metcalf, Lawson, Heade, Frank Lloyd Wright and many more. Plan on spending at least two hours here if you have any interest in art. They have a nice gift shop too.

Amazing piece of history. Fascinating machinery. So wonderful that the city and NPS chose to preserve.

Volunteers do a great job of sharing the history, importance, tragedy and beauty of this landmark. Learn the circumstances of the infamous bombing and see the beautiful sanctuary which is still in use. Elevator available.

Our Ladies Ministry went to see White Christmas December 9th, 2022 and we had a great time. The theatre is Beautiful and very clean. We went to the Restroom and they where very clean more than I can say about a lot of places, But that is a big deal if you are going as a family. Staff was very friendly. Will always make this a yearly visit.

Not a bad choice of public outing for those still a bit hesitant to go out due to COVID. There was reasonable spacing between groups and plenty of choices of vendors so it never felt too crowded. Definitely worth the fireworks and connection to the Children's Hospital patients.

So fortunate to get to walk historic Rickwood Field. Climbed up to the sportswriter's platform on the roof. An amazing historical display inside the building. How often an you walk the trail of history? So thankful.

We visited with our family of 6, kids ages 1-10, and everyone had a great day. The animals we saw, especially the orangutans were in thoughtful exhibits, and they seemed well cared for. There were many closed exhibits, for Covid, weather, and renovations. Still, it was a really fun day, and I would recommend this place.

We stopped by the area to see the new A.G. Gaston Motel (as a relatively new, yet undeveloped NPS site). Always great to visit an area to emphasize a sense of living history. The civil rights district is all nearby, making it easy to either drive to or walk about to see multiple sites on a single afternoon. Well worth the trip in.

I loved this park. I drove by it during the day and I didn't think about it much. I'm not from the area but it seemed to be in the not best part of town. I went later in the evening with my mother to go for a walk and we loved it. It is very large and there was a great amount of people doing all sorts of things. Lots of people having fun with their friends. The park lights up at night in a great manner that makes it all very beautiful.
