Fantastic, world class venue near Birmingham, Alabama. Museum is bright, creatively arranged in beautiful setting. Well worth the visit. The racing track, aligned next door, makes for great viewing of racers speeding around the laps.

Superbly done. The exhibits were relevant, very well put together, and the self-guided tour moved you through the events of the time logically and poignantly. I've visited many historical museums throughout the country; this was clearly among the best. Highly recommend.

This was a really fun stop. The tower with the statue offered amazing views of Birmingham and can be reached by stairs or elevator. The small museum was very informative. It had a scavenger hunt for kids and there was also a well-priced gift shop, clean bathrooms, and water fountains inside that building. However, don't do the trail later in the day. When we left, the gates to the trail were open, but they were closed at our return (maybe half an hour to 45 minutes later). We had to hop over two different gates to get back to our car. Other than that, we had a great time and admission is free if you're on SNAP (food stamps).

I wasn’t sure what to expect since the botanical gardens were free. Don’t worry, though, because they’re beautiful and the whole place is very well maintained. You’ll definitely get your steps in on this visit. Not to be missed!

Make sure you make time to visit Sloss Furnaces when in Birmingham. It was easy to follow the signs to do the self-guided tour. I liked the way you could get so close to the actual machinery. It was also interesting to read the signs and understand how the community was built around the furnaces.

They were doing a good bit of construction and repairs, so some things were not accessible. I'm hoping they'll do something more creative for the elephants, they just seemed lonely and bored. The overall layout is nice, lots of moms and preschoolers the day we were there, so I assume it's a local destination!

Wonderful museum to visit in Birmingham, Alabama. See ceramics and tour additional rooms displaying temporary exhibits. Learn about art, culture, and sculpture from many countries of the world.
Stickley furniture, Frank Lloyd Wright glass pane, Samurai Costumes., a basket woven from a photo, rare colors of ceramics, Korean wood chests. Travel the world and through time in one day. A children’s art area with a staff member dedicated to art engagement for the young ones.
The staff is very friendly. The lunch cafe opens at 11:00 am. Lockers are available for free. Free parking and free admission. Donation box at entrance has a sign mentioning a $5.00 donation. The small outdoor garden area has benches.
Hardwood floors need cleaning and polish especially on level Two.
We saw tours groups of students and learned that people select this museum for weddings.

We purchased tickets for the new Iconic performance. It was excellent. The singers, dancers, and musicians were very, very good! Staff from greeters to concessions, etc., were so personable and nice. Beautiful facility. Enjoyed our show very much.

The exhibits in the museum are very nice. There’s work going on with moving some of the pieces around, otherwise I would have given it a 5 star rating. Well worth the trip to see this place and for only $10 for adults a bargain for 2024.

America's oldest baseball park, where Willie Mays started his professional career. Unfortunately, the inside was closed and there were no games scheduled the weekend I was visiting, but I did walk around and peek in.

This was an amazing experience. We reserved online then showed up for our tour. We were given masks to wear. There are two videos and then you are taken around the room of exhibits by a knowledgeable guide. Then there's another video in a separate room and you're taken to the church proper. Be sure to see the commemorative plaque outside as well. This is living history and is more than well worth anyone's time. The tour is appropriate for all ages, and the guides do a great job of making history come alive in a way that is hopeful for the future. I highly recommend purposefully taking a trip here.
