On every visit to São Paulo I spend a day in the Pinacoteca. There are always great exhibitions, and now they have even added a small new building with some contemporary art. Definitely a highlight for lovers of modern art. Here you realize that SP is a megacity with fantastic art exhibitions.

Please be aware that the area around the museum is a bit quirky and you better take a cab or Uber to get there.

Besides the building, the display of the artwork is fascinating as well as the art itself. I had tried unsuccessfully to order an entrance ticket by internet but the ticket office at the museum entrance was open and no problem. Very worthwhile.

This place is nice for its arquitecture, exibitions, music, theatre and a whole range of cultural initiatives. Also, there is a nice and cozy coffee shop with specialty coffee and sweets. It is beautiful outside and inside and it is worth a visit.

Focus on Brazilian history, very nicely presented and explained. Two floors with several rooms. There is also a very interesting explanation of the slavery time.

We went to the Yayoi Kusama exhibition and it was excellent! Well organized, easy to follow the route, and the best part, it was free. Because of that, you might want to arrive early to avoid long lines. Recommend it!

Upon visiting there was no entrance fee however there were only two very small exhibitions, one relating to the history of the camera and one art exhibition with several interesting works of art. There is an attached cafe where the service was excellent as were the prices along with good fast wifi. There is also a niche shop where items can be bought too. I had intended giving this a 3 star review but the cafe and wifi convinced me that it was 4star although I was disappointed with the lack of exhibits.

This museum is one of about eighty museums in Sao Paulo. It is not my favorite museum but it has many well known pieces or art. The museum seems well maintained. There is a restaurant on the grounds of the museum but the restaurant is not, in my opinion, worth a second visit (or even a first).

It’s a very unique cool building. At the time it was empty but still didn’t take away from its very unique architecture to me it almost looks like a flying saucer. A brilliant white building in a see of green of the park. Worth checking out for sure

Beautiful house and gardens, very kind staff and the entrance is free.

Gives a good impression on how the well to do art lovers lived in the previous century.

Neighborhood is also worthwhile and a big contrast with the down town concrete jungle. This is the Beverly hill of SP.

MAM is a nice place to visit since its inside the Ibirapuera Park, where you can walk around, visit the museum and then have a nice lunch at the MAM restaurant.

I had hoped to see the mid-century furnishings in the house, but it was a museum of the collections of Mr. and Mrs. Americano. It was interesting, if not what I expected. Be sure to take a walk through the grounds of the estate to see the modern sculptures and the original pool pavilion. The restaurant was lovely as was the theater where concerts are held. This is definitely worth a visit if you are in Sao Paulo.

Very nice museum, talking about immigration history and relating the artist life through his paintings and sculptures. Really enjoyed the place, I recommend if you like art!

The visit was nice, but very fast. We couldn’t stay enough time in each part of the house! The guide explained, waited few minutes and then we need to move very fast. I felt that I missed a little bit.
The group was full, so some people couldn’t enter in each part.
I recommend add 30 minutes, the duration 1:30 will be perfect.

A suggestion could have a beverage machine near to reception just for basic itens, like water (specifically because the neighborhood is very residential) and maybe an audio guide in English/Spanish.

The experience in general worth, the place, history are amazing and the employees are polite.

My 4 year-old daughter liked the place. Although there aren't many options, the installations are well taken care of and the playground is above average. The downside is the price. It seemed too much R$ 150 for the couple plus children.
