- RHAHJNijmegen, The Netherlands1,972 contributionsI expected a park with some naturally occurring animals, but it is more like a zoo of animals from the South American continent. Bears, deer, monkeys, tortoises, snakes, caymen, and many birds. I skipped the large cerrado section, although that should be interesting with emas, the lobo-guara, the giant ant-eater, and more.
I liked that some of the birds were in the open air, so seemingly staying in the zoo out of their own volition (or maybe they cannot fly). I also liked the cattle egrets nesting in trees near the entrance, and the lizzards (bright green with grey, two individuals, and one monitor lizzard) around the area.
Entrance was free, and there are several stands with food and drinks near the entrance (I believe I also saw a restaurant building but it appeared closed).Written November 27, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MariliavaAraraquara, SP489 contributionsGreat place to spend a weekend afternoon. If you arrive around noon the restaurant is open with typical farm food. Then from 12h to 17h it is possible to visit the house/palace of the farm. It is possible to walk around where the slaves were kept and where coffe was treated after harvest. During the week it is also possible to visit, but you would have to book in advance. It is accessible only by car, and part of the road is not paved, around 20 min from the city.Written April 21, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RHAHJNijmegen, The Netherlands1,972 contributionsThis museum is located in the old train station. Outside there is a nice American steam locomotive from the late 19th century. The building itself looks quite impressive. Entrance to the museum is free. Exhibitions change. When I visited there was an exhibition about sports. There were sport items related to city sports and information about national sports, including the team with Pele and Garrincha that won several football world titles. I found this rather boring, also because of the many Portuguese texts. An old carriage at the end of the exhibition is quite nice. I didn't see any explanations with this.Written November 27, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Rafa C70 contributionsReally nice old farm from Brazilian's culture to visit and know the history of the region, slaves, train, coffee and nice walks inside the forest close to the house taking a look to the high Bambu or walk without your shoes into a water channel to relax yourself. Also, you can eat strange fruits from trees. At the end a coffee and juice is served.Written November 4, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TrvlngPrncssOswego, NY80 contributionsThe restored building is beautiful, but due to some water damage from rain the second floor was partly blocked off and had plaster falling from the ceiling and the wall paint looked bad as well. Too bad they are using a nice, historical landmark of the city for municipal offices! It should house a museum, cultural center, art gallery, or something of this nature instead.Written July 23, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - marcelobjSao Carlos, SP71 contributions"Pista da Saúde" is a nice place for walking. It's a dirt path surrounded by trees (pines, eucalyptus and native trees), it's located besides Federal University of São Carlos. It seems a safe place - if you want to keep fit I recommend this place.Written February 13, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
