- BulgaricanTroy, OH13 contributionsI did the Petra da Gavea climb with Itaway Ecotours and I cannot recommend it enough. The hike/climb is a really nice challenge and the views at the top are magnificent. If you are ok with heights and are in decent physical shape and want a challenge with great views as a payoff then I would highly recommend you to book this tour. My guide Leo was excellent and a really nice guy. He speaks great English and explains everything as you go. It took around 3 hours to get up and about 2 hours to get back down. If you get really nervous with heights or if you are not in decent physical shape then I would recommend not to do this because it is challenging. - AviSao Paulo, SP3 contributions🇬🇧 Iconic place where paragliders take off. Very difficult to park on weekends; much easier to park on week days. There is an external paid parking that is not official and 5min walking from the entrance. Then walk for 20min from entrance to the take off place in a very steep and exhaustive path.
🇧🇷 Local de decolagem de asa delta e parapente desde os anos 1970 no Rio. Difícil de estacionar nos finais de semana; mais fácil estacionar durante a semana. Há estacionamento não oficial 5min a pé da entrada do parque. - BeatrizMesquita, RJ12 contributionsThe highest peak in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Yes. It's a very good, clean trail and we have cell phone internet almost all the time. - Evan BrazBoca Raton, FL552 contributionsReachable by car or local bus, this well kept gem of a tropical forest acts as the lungs of Rio. Go through Tijuca up to the Alto da Boa Vista, where a cute round square leads to the forest, which includes waterfalls, small dams, and lots of trees, flowers and small animals.
