Great gift shop with high quality handicrafts made by indigenous artisans. Some churches would be proud to have the wooden saint carvings in their sanctuaries because they are very skillfully created and high quality art objects. Other items are much more "craft" oriented - whimsical figures of wood, bark or clay, etc. Very interesting array of items - some are "expensive" and others are very affordable. The owner is fluent in English and very helpful - even arranging for shipping of some very heavy pieces from Rio to the United States. - Roberts69Northampton, UK18,964 contributionsThis art gallery showing work of a small selection of modern Brazilian is located in a yellow colonial style building with displays on 2 floors. The gallery is scheduled to move in 2018 to a new modern building (see photo) further down Rua Anibal de Mendonca closer to Ipanema Beach (Beach Posto 10). This gallery is not very large at all with only a few dozen pieces of art on display. It is worth a quick visit though for anyone with an interest in art. My favourite painting was one done in 1957 by artist Candido Portinari called "Favela"...
