This tour is a must-do when visiting Rio! Transport was punctual, clean and had AC. Our driver Paulo was great. We felt safe getting around. Our tour guide Monica was excellent! She did the tour in English, Spanish & French! (She also knows Italian and Portuguese). She provided a lot of detail and kept things light and fun. She also answered questions in wonderful detail reflecting her great appreciation of the culture.
The sites were fantastic. We were given enough time to explore and take pictures. Lunch at the steakhouse was delicious. We follow a pescatarian diet and had good options though we couldn’t enjoy the Brazilian BBQ - why not skewer up some fish? Everyone else on our tour said the BBQ meat they served was very good. The cake for dessert was incredible (you pay for drinks and dessert separately).
I feel this tour made our trip. The Christ statue and views from its summit are unforgettable. There was even a surprise marriage proposal for a couple in our Tour Group against this majestic background. High fives all around!
We loved the views taking the gondola up to Sugar Loaf Mountain. You really see that Rio is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The hilly topography combined with the lush forests which nestle a bustling urban centre, make for a unique and contrasting experience.
Everyone, including friends from Rio, warned us to be careful about crime etc. However we didn’t have any issues when sticking to this well organized tour, being vigilant, and using common sense.
We are already planning our next trip and highly recommend this tour.
