I would not recommend venturing to Mercadao De Madureira if you are a tourist or do not know the area well. A lovely Portuguese style wine store which had a fresh bakery at the back of the store this was a beautiful store. The fine jewellery was beautiful. The most fancy one is from the main entrance, while there were a couple more from the rear end facing some blocks of flats and! Tada! The Christ the Saviour! If you are lucky with the clouds, you can get a very good view. I recon, the place is busy during the daytime with all these shops selling all kinds of foods and drinks. - Outside Preferred13 contributionsLoved this store and wish I could have bought more of the bags. We went here for presents for friends and family. Loved the little change purses with scenes of Rio done in a more abstract way to make them a perfect souvenir. Staff was really helpful and friendly.
