You will not find many historic sites in Brazil that are as old and in such a good state of conservation. The views of the entrance of the bay and the Sugar Loaf are stunning, and the facilities are good. You can take a guided tour, which will make you experience a lot more interesting, but just strolling in the area is very enjoyable.

This active military fort is situated on a hill with great views of the entrance to Guanabara Bay through which all the past explorers first passed. There are lots of local families visiting and relaxing. Although we didn't have time to explore the areas of the fort that are open to the public, it is worth with the visit for the view when in Niteroi.

The buildings on the camino are fantastic!. It is hard to find and very poorly sign posted, but if you persist, the outcome is more than worth the frustration. We had to take a guided tour by a nice young man who spoke English (on the English tour) poorly. There seems no need to be forced to take a tour, as it added no value. However the buildings are so well worth it.

The church is beautiful, well taken care off and provides a wonderful view of the city. The arquitecture is really nice, all the details and the art pieces are a delight.

A very pretty spot for amazing views to the small island on one hand, Maki and Nireroi on the other, and Rio on yet another part. Very very nice! Loved it!

An extraordinary building, but inside all the piety and peace resonates. It is an amazing church that contrasts with the harshness and drive of the city.
