In our 3-hour walking tour, Sueli, an enthusiastic native of lovely Ouro Preto, did a wonderful job of providing context for what we were seeing. In a very interesting way, she explained the different architectural and artistic styles of the churches and other buildings we visited. And she explained the political, religious, and socioeconomic realities that shaped those styles at the time each was built. She also provided tips on where to eat and shop during the rest of my time here.

Thank you, Mateus! It was a great trip for us! We want to say his guide was so professional. He could reply my our daughters question soon. How deep is his knowledge about Ouro preto😆
During these rainy days, he adjusted order of activities to make it proceed smooth and completed it. It must be difficult work...
Abd, we enjoyed so much about mining and visit of mines.
Thank you Mateus to give us the wonderful experiences!!

Amazing service! Would definitely recommend to get a private package in order to suit your group’s needs and ask for the tour guide and historian Marcelo Hipolito. He has an incredible knowledge and speaks english. I believe he speaks other languages as well.

We took the steam train from Ouro Preto to Mariana and I loved it. As others have commented, it is a bit expensive but they do have half price tickets for seniors and the return ticket wasn't too much more than the one way ticket. We got to the station early in Ouro Preto and that gave us a chance to visit the interesting little museum they have at the station which provides some history. There was also a small market in the station with some hand made items. The seats are not assigned so just choose to sit wherever you wish. When we took it there were quite a few families taking the train since it was during the school holiday period. One has great views of the countryside from the train. I also liked that people wave to the train as we passed. Such fun!

My family and I visited an exchange student that we hosted from Mariana, Minas Gerais 15 years ago for Christmas this past year. While we were there we all rented 4 wheelers and went on a cruise with a guide from Ecoventura. We saw wildlife and waterfalls...we even had to go around a bunch of long horned cows that were blocking up one of the roads! We had so much fun! The staff was very friendly and informative even though we did not speak portuguese! It was one of the highlights of my trip! I highly recommend it!

Brazil has 21 UNESCO World Heritage sites and Ouro Preto has the distinction of being the first ... for well-documented reasons.

We stayed in Ouro Preto - the most beautiful colonial town of Brazil and on the entire planet - for 3 nights to celebrate Good Friday and Easter Sunday this year.

Our private full-day tour of Ouro Preto was organized by Pedro Paulo Pinto Jr. of Ouro Preto Travel ... an extremely reputable agency which has been commissioned by embassies, multinational corporations, dignitaries and other high-profile clients.

Pedro is a consummate professional & exceptional model ambassador for Brazil.

He is one of the very few multi-lingual travel agents who is able to communicate fluently in English.

His gracious hospitality and superlative service was very much appreciated.

Our private tour of Ouro Preto was fabulously educational and memorable.

Even the mayor of Ouro Preto - whom we personally met during our walkabout - told us that we were in excellent hands with the tour guide that Pedro provided us!
