- Scott BWantagh, NY697 contributionsI have been told that the Central Market has become much more of a tourist attraction now than what it used to be, and most of the stands did sell most of the same items (other than different brands or varieties). There are a few which sell fruits, or original products but you need to look carefully. One of the best was a bulk chocolate/fruit shop that had products I didn't see elsewhere, like chocolate covered Acai, apricots and other Brazil specific fruits. And, you get to try samples of each.
Lot of liquors, tourist souvenirs and such across many of the stores. The food courts were busy, and the small bars were full too.
I also agree with previous reviewers that they should stop selling puppies and birds. But historically this was where chickens were bought and sold so that also keeps some of the originality of it. That section reminds me of many other places across the world where the same occurs. Bring hand sanitizer, I was told they are known for sick animals historically.
There are bathrooms, there are some with automatic gates which you need a keycard to access, but a little further away there are others which you have to pay 2 Reals to use and someone at the window to take you money. As expected, not the cleanest so try to avoid if you can.
Oh, and for some reason catching an Uber outside was somewhat difficult, and took a long time. The prices is not expensive .

But to get inside is so troublesome. It can literally take you 45 mins to get to your seat.
And if you park your car in the stadium parking lot, give it an hour or so to get out. - Debra M5 contributionsThe CCBBB is located in a lovely building. I saw the Man Ray exhibit, which I believe runs to about early March 2020. While not Brazilian, it is a great show, complemented by a long but extremely interesting documentary, and on the level of anything you will find in New York City or the major cities of Europe. It offers a vary good selection of retail brands as well as restaurants, including Lojas Renner, and Zara, as well as a cinema and much more.
