We did 3 tours with Trilhatour and they were all amazing. The communication with the company was fantastic, they went above and beyond to welcome us. We did the lazy river and lagona Bonita in one day and a full day on the quad bikes the second day. All tours were beautiful and visited different areas and views. Our guides didn't have any English but you could get by. We would highly recommend it especially the quad bikes.

I'll start this review with some context: I have never booked a multi-day tour for traveling in all the years I've traveled.

With that being said, I would recommend for anyone wanting to experience something otherworldly, to go see Lençois Maranhenses. Our tour, that was arranged by Elena and her team, packed in so much, from Jericoacoara, to Camocim, to Parnaiba, to 3 different cities bordering Lençois Maranhenses and ending in Sao Luis all in 10 days. It was a packed itinerary, but also, there was some time to rest while being transported between the cities. During this time, we didn't have to worry about anything other than finding food for lunch or dinner. Every tour, every guide, every transportation connection was taken care of by Elena and her team. Even when we had a misunderstanding about activities, we were able to work it out with the tour operators and Elena and her team. Lençois Maranhenses was the highlight of our trip and I already plan to go back and backpack it overnight. It's worth seeing and experiencing for yourself.

Regarding Elena and her team, they were flexible, and helped me understand what options we had, from budget to luxury accommodations, from private to group tours, and even additional destinations if we wanted (I had wanted to go to Chapada Diamantina, but I ran out of time), and Elena was more than ready to offer tour itineraries and transfer options to any places I threw at her. I'm not sure I'm in on tours for every location I go, but I am glad that I had this one for an area that is not well known, as Elena and her team took care of so much.

Overall, if you want to see this route, and are nervous about planning a trip yourself in this area, I would recommend reaching out to Elena and her team.

Amazing, unforgettable, bucket-list, once-in-a-lifetime experience! We did this journey with our two children (ages 5 and 9) and it was INCREDIBLE -- the landscape was unlike any other we'd ever seen and the balance was perfect! We spent our time walking through the dunes, swimming in the green-turquiose lagoons, getting to know the local families, watching the moon/sun/stars rise, and sleeping on hammocks in the homes so generously opened to us by the local communities. In this way, it had the ideal mix of physical activity, rest, nature and local culture. The beauty was absolutely breathtaking and unlike any other we'd ever seen -- walking on the dunes before the sun rose --led only by the light of the moon-- made us feel like we were walking on the moon. Swimming in the lagoons and walking in the soft sand made us feel like we were walking in heaven on Earth.

Which brings me to Costa Leste EcoAventura, which is more than just a super professional ecotourism agency - it is also locally owned and a force for upholding and strengthening local culture. It invites travelers to travel conscientiously and guides us to support the business run by locals, to get to really know the food, the history, and the responsibility we share in protecting this treasure of humanity. Most importantly, the love they have for this magical place and for the work they do is resoundingly clear in all their interactions -- they'll go above and beyond to make sure your interests/needs are met and point you in the right direction always.

Last but certainly not least -- one of the biggest gifts we received in our trip was Raimundo Cleyton, our guide, who we will never ever forget. Raimundo left his mark on each of us and we all cried when the time came to say goodbye. He's incredibly knowledgeable and moves with beautiful energy and love. He'll talk you through history, culture, astronomy, biology. He'll introduce you to secret fruits, swimming holes and, if you're lucky like we were, even plan a few surprises along the way. We were all so moved by the chance to experience this together -- it changed us, reset us, and made us feel forever spiritually connected to the space, stories and people we met along the way.

Our best advice: GO! Let Costa Leste guide you and then cross your fingers and hope you have the chance to experience the dunes under the care of Raimundo!
