What travelers are saying
- Eda PSydney, Australia2 contributionsBeautiful place, and safe for tourist. Pity it is not open on Mondays. There are places to eat and drink around, nothing too expensive. Great for those who have little reservation.Written August 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Randall BrachmannClearwater, FL5 contributionsI was on a 7-day yacht trip on the Rio Negro and the Amazon River and on our return, we went to see where the two rivers meet and how they don't immediately mix giving this interesting effect.Written August 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - YolyPalomoLas Vegas, NV66 contributionsInteresting introduction to the jungle! They mandate sneakers, so don’t wear hiking sandals as they will make you rent rubber boots. I wore closed toe sandals with small side openings and I had to change. I also recommend wearing a hat if you are climbing the tour, so you don’t get sand in your hair as people walk above you. Overall, it was a nice experience. Be prepared for hot & humid temperatures!Written July 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Voldemar_KozlovMoscow, Russia19 contributionsThe beach is really large and has lots of small kiosk-cafes all around. Seems popular with locals, safe and rather clean.Written November 13, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CarolSao Paulo, SP20 contributionsIt’s a great place to understand to understand the most important period of Manaus. But the place needs some maintenance to receive the tourists.Written December 10, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ugo100hmonteNatal, RN517 contributionsThis is one of the most interesting places to visit in Manaus. You will find many species of wild flora and fauna of Amazon Rainforest. Personally, I don't like the spiders or snakes, I prefer to watch the big trees and native plants of region.Written May 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LuckySpiveyAtlanta, GA1,028 contributionsI’m not a big zoo fan. I always feel sorry for the animals in captivity, regardless of the habitat provided them. Here we saw jaguars, monkeys parrots and a toucan all in small enclosed spaces. The spaces were clean, just not much room, especially for the big cats. We also saw an anaconda- but I couldn’t bring myself to feel sorry for it.
The zoo is right at the edge of the Amazon Rain Forest. Seeing how very dense it is made us wonder how anyone could chop through it.
Very interesting.Written March 4, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Pavement is a wavey patern of black and white to represent the Rio Negro and Amazon Rivers. Surrounding the square are lots of places to eat and drink and listen to music during the entire day.Written August 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sean KCanberra, Australia276 contributionsI really liked visiting here. It's like a cross between a university and a zoo. The entry is cheap and you need a few hours to see everything.
There is a lot of animals you can see and interesting exhibits. Turtles, caimans, otters and manatees as well as a turtle breeding program. The staff are friendly and helpful too.
