A beautiful waterfall with lots of wooden shacks. In April the shacks are all closed but the falls are nice and quiet so it is very enjoyable. A very nice environment and well worth a visit.

Take a rout with your car through the canyon and enjoy the views. There is at least one stop at the side of the road where you can park, jump out and take pictures. The views are really worth it.

Excellent food, very tasty, I recommend the veal from the roast (izpod sača). Very nice ambience, friendly staff. Although they are 17 kilometres from Banja Luka it is worth it. Also nice Ethno museu

Pretty mosque from the outside. It was open when we stopped by on a Saturday in March, late morning (we saw a men enter), but we chose to not go inside. Sad that it was destroyed, but they've done a nice job reconstructing it.

I’m not too keen on large cities, but I loved Banja Luka. We spent five days there and I would happily return (although am planning to explore the southern Bosnia later this month). Banja Luka is an elegant, buzzing, very European city, there are some landmarks (like the Cathedral or a nearby mosque) that shouldn’t be missed on your visit. Some parts of Banja Luka reminded me of Poland in the 1990s, but the city centre is very modern, extremely clean, with lots of restaurants with tables outside, a massive shopping mall and a charming marketplace featuring local produce, flowers, plants, etc. The locals are extremely friendly and helpful. There are lots of green spaces in the city - you can take a short hike to Banj Brdo to admire the gorgeous views of Banja Luka from the top, there’s a nature park not far from the centre, free thermal springs, or you can just walk along the banks of the beautiful Vrbas river (the river has many currents, but there are several safe areas where you can a dip on a hot day).

I like hiking and nature so this was one of my favorite things to do in Banja Luka. There are two possible ways to get to Banj Brdo (Šehitluci). One is partly by car (2 km from center) and then on foot (4-5 km). The other way is by panoramic bus (one way ticket costs 0,5 Eur). That is new here and the ride is about 15 min long. I would recommend going by bus only for those who find it difficult to walk uphill (older persons, disabled or kids). That isn't very steep climb, I think almost everyone can do it. The paths are very well marked and for those who wants more of it there is path called Banjalučka transverzala that is, I estimate, about 15 km long. Near the top you can find Novak restaurant that is named by famous tennis player. Some say that Djokovic family has part of it. All ičn all, I can recommend visiting these woods and clean nature.

I say "little" because the upstairs was closed off--and maybe another wing? Hard to tell, but based on the photos on here, we definitely saw different things/not what other people seem to have seen in times past.

Still, it was interesting, and there were some cool old artefacts and good information of the early peoples to the region, their tools, jewelry, etc. Our favorite section (because we're big animal lovers) was the natural history area, with lots of taxidermy birds, amphibians, and mammals of the region. Another fun (and seemingly out of place, haha) part was the optical illusions section. Fun even for adults who enjoy being kids again for a bit.

Only 3KM (less than $2 USD) for entrance, and the guy working the front desk was nice.

Treat it as a park - plenty of places to explore although much of it was closed off when we went in preparation for an open air music festival. There are restaurants/cafes in there and you can access the river for boat trips as well. Nice place to spend an hour or so exploring.

Yes, our goal was Trapist cheese but we got so much more. Based upon previous reviews we expected the cheese shop to only be open on Sunday for the morning mass. We arrived before 10 a.m. and saw no evidence of cheese so we checked out the grounds and joined the parishioners for the service.

The interior of the church is decorated with paintings and carvings of Biblical scenes so there was much to look at during the service with about 50 people. Afterwards we chose the right person, Žana, to inquire about the cheese and she took us under her wing and gave us a guided tour of the museum and explained the vibrant history of the monastery. Having grown up in the parish she personally knew some of the leaders and conveyed a true appreciation for their community support.

As we were leaving we again asked about the cheese and learned that the shop had closed since the one remaining brother was needed for a prayer service. Seeing our sad expressions she kindly convinced the brother to open the shop and we left with a wheel of delicious cheese and a healthy respect for the challenges and joys of the Mariastern Abbey and the parishioners.

The walk is ok, but IMO not much to see. The landscape is worth the walk. I think they have a bus, but maybe not every day.

Last night, we walked up the pedestrian street for ice cream at Dionis and noted the lighted buildings further up; The 2007 President of the Republic of Srpska Palace (built as a bank in 1936), the 1929 Christ the Savior Orthodox Cathedral (rebuilt in 2004) with Municipal administration office behind and this 1998 Culture Center (built in 1932 as the palace of a ruling noblemen).
We returned this morning to visit the interior where a business conference was being held. This is a beautiful area both day and night.

Small water park about 15 minutes from the city centre. There's a very big tube slide a big pool with a section with a current and a standard swimming pool.

Cheap to get in and enough to keep kids entertained for half a day. There was one lifeguard on duty, who was quite strict. The slide was a bit of a free for all. You can get some good speed up if you lie back. A few chairs and sunbeds, but most people put towels out on the floor, which is grass and a fair bit of mud, but it was so hot everywhere was completely dry.

You can get ice creams and there's a big cafe that says "Greek food" however it only appeared to sell pizza (and only one type of pizza). The staff let you go outside and there is a massive Konzum opposite that does hot food to take out.

Kids really enjoyed it and was good value for the price.
