- EnjoysTravelling_007San Diego, CA261 contributionsIf you are used to rest areas in the USA then you should be ready for an interesting experience... this rest stop by the Expressway boasts great views of Fuji San, excellent restaurants and great gift stores. There are a number of restaurants in this location and we spent a while to decide which one to go to... each looked so good. We had the local delicacies including Sakura Ebi and baby sardines.Written December 31, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Richard K249 contributionsI went here before work one spring day, and am glad I took a bit of time to relax before a long workday. I wish I could have spent longer, but liked seeing the cherry blossoms, the sculptures, and some of Mount Fuji. I also would like to have had easier access by public transit.Written April 9, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - whynosloOslo83 contributionsWe borrowed free bikes from the tourist information at Shin Fuji station. The lady was so helpful, showing us on the map the best places to go. It was less tan 5 km til to temple where we could leave our bikes and walk to the top. It was a nice walk, and on the way we met many locals who were brisk-walking to the top. It wasn't exactly far, but good exercise. On top there was a park where many people picnic'ed. There were stalls that sold hot food, and table and chairs we could sit on. Luckily we had bought some red wine from a little store just before we reached the temple. By the time we got to the top mount Fuji, that we had seen on the way had disappeard behind the fog. But it was till beautiful.Written April 10, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DseneviNugegoda, Sri Lanka134 contributionsThis place offers a scenic view with a river flowing amidst greenery and a busy highway with the majestic Fuji San shrouded in clouds against the blue sky. So many ways to take a good photograph, but there is a small rock with a peeping hole through which you can take the perfect picture of Mount Fuji. The service area is also good with a Starbucks Coffee and a food court and a small shopping area. Highly recommended for a visit.Written June 18, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JulieJapan12 contributionsHad a great time at Chanoma. We spent about 1.5 hours there picking tea leaves and enjoying cold tea and shaved ice (and our own BYO snacks from nearby convenience store). The terrace shielded us from the hot summer sun, so this is a great spot for all seasons. The tea farmer showed us how to pick the best tea leaves, it was fun to learn how to pick the best tea leaves!
A great place to chill with a couple of friends! On a clear day you can see Mount Fuji from the terrace...Unfortunately, it wasn't visible that day.
There are also lots of things to do around Shizuoka city. So this is a perfect day trip activity from Tokyo if you're a green tea lover!Written July 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
