What travelers are saying
- MsKieshaAlexandria, VA2,432 contributionsBeautiful gallery! I love how the artists have their own room to express themselves, which plays into the aesthetic of their beautiful artwork. Everything was so unique and very interesting. I had a really good time.Written July 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DClocalWashington DC, DC31 contributionsThe Old Town Farmers’ Market is my favorite Saturday morning activity. Everything is local and fresh and I think there’s an especially good baked goods selection. The vendors fill up Market Square with produce and groceries as well as art and gifts. Plus, garage parking is free at City Hall during the farmers’ market!Written April 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LanternhillLittle Rock114 contributionsThis little store is a loaded jewel box filled with thousands of beautiful gorgeous items with great sterling, metalwork, porcelain and so much more. Staff was friendly and personable and prices were fair.Written August 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JNYCwriterNew York City, NY6,856 contributionsI liked for Principle Gallery for a few reasons. First, the staff were friendly without being pretentious. Secondly, the quality of the paintings was notable. Principle represents a number of artists and also has opening receptions. They let you peruse around and do not follow or bug you. It is a nice place to go if you are hanging out on King Street. The art is reasonable price and without cheap reproductions.Written February 16, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NikkiStruAlexandria, VA4 contributionsVictorins antiques has a great selection of vintage things. I spent half an hour on their website to see what to choose. I participated in an online auction and was happy to win an item.Written May 10, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PuddinHead7104Sarasota, FL31 contributionsI stop by once a month or so and stock up on fresh veggies and grass fed chorizo and beef. It is small, but has a great variety, including lots of pastries, cheeses, kim chee, pastries, bread and cookies. Definitely worth a visit if you are nearby
They are open every Saturday, but during the winter you can't expect many veggies. Some vendors accept credit, but most just take cash.Written September 10, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Good price, and friendly staff.Written May 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AdamFort Lauderdale, FL1,487 contributionsI really like community based art galleries and tucked away in Alexandria across from DC I came across Del Ray Artisans. They have exhibits that change on a regular basis and the art was decent. There was a friendly group and you get that community feeling.Written February 9, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - QuickWhitTravelWashington DC, DC4,071 contributionsThis is an interesting spot along the Mount Vernon Trail. There are lips and eyes and an obelisk, but no real explanation for them. I say keep running, walking, or jogging by it.Written April 28, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TroisChatsLiesKinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo4,113 contributionsI was happy to find a farmer's market nearby that is open year round. Fresh produce is available, along with a variety of other vendors: ceramics/pottery, fruit juice, handmade items, home baked goods, and I was happy to see a vendor with Ecuadorian food (as I used to work and live in Ecuador... and have been craving empanadas and tigrillo). Usually there is live music apparently, but I visited right at 9 am before the music got set up. Nice little seating area too, to enjoy the music and homebaked goods. Plenty of free parking is a plus.Written March 5, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Laurel B1 contributionIf you need more cute animals and beautiful hand painted pottery in your life, Tracie Griffith Tso’s studio at Torpedo Factory is the place to be. She seems to add new animals pretty often so I can’t help but go check them out periodically. Her otters, black cats, bunnies, pandas, etc. are sooooo cute it’s hard to bear. Love!!!Written September 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Anita8 contributionsVery disappointed in the service I received last week, at the DC location. Wanted to restock a couple of items. Called ahead to ask about wine selection. The woman who answered was nice enough to tell me. I told her I was on my way and how far away I was. Upon arrival, I encountered a young lady, who told me she could not ring up my purchase, because she is underaged and that the person I spoke with left at 5PM and that the next person wasn't due in until 6PM. Note it was 5:15, at the time. Was annoyed because I fought traffic and was on the road for an hour to get to this place, just to be told I'd have to wait 45 min., in order to make my purchase.
She said she called the manager and there was nothing that could be done. Now, by all means, I did not expect an underaged person to ring my purchases, however, to not offer anything for the inconvenience was disappointing, especially for a loyal customer. It also begs the question-why was an underaged person working in the store alone (or was she)? I left all items and said that the situation was ridiculous and I was not waiting.
I walked down the block to do other shopping and returned to my car. I did a search for the wine, now on my mind, and could not find it anywhere else locally. At this point, it was 6:03PM. I went back to purchase. Unfortunately, this was my last purchase from this company.
I've been patronizing the business, since it opened its doors on King Street. I am familiar with what the Owners look like. I could've sworn the female one was standing right outside the door, speaking with another woman, when I returned. Upon mentioning this to the young clerk inside, she told me it wasn't her. Between that and the fact that I was told that a different employee was coming in at 6, when the website states that the store closes at 8, is hard to believe. Why would somebody have a 2hr. shift?? Again, was it the same employee (that left at 5) returning from lunch break?? Why wouldn't the person come in at 5, to relieve the one that allegedly left at 5PM? I state all of the above to state that I do not like feeling like I'm being deceived/lied to. Makes no sense. Also, they rarely have certain popular items in stock and online inventory is often times inaccurate.
Separately-King Street staff is very nice and professional. Extra star for them.Written May 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We will absolutely be back again.Written August 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
