    Route 66 traveler
    I visited the station in 2014, one of the best stops along Route 66. The cars and the history were amazing as well as the lady who was working there that day. People who had visited signed the walls and we bought several pieces of memorabilia there as well as pictures with the packards. It is 2022 and I am revisiting the mother road of the United States and saddened by the closing of this wonderful location. I hope that the current owners will reopen this historic treasure again so that people can get a sense of what we all missed during the grand days of the automobile road trip. I hope that more people take an interest in preserving what is left of the greatest road in our country and that all who make the journey are as moved by its wonderful history as I have been. Get your kicks on Route 66 is more than a saying, more than a song, more than just a ordinary drive for those who are passionate about automobiles and travel. Route 66 is more than just a handful of destinations on a map, it is a journey for your soul to enjoy a simpler, less hurried yet very interesting time in American history. Cheers!

    Interesting Visit
    The people who own/operate this place are wonderful - very friendly, outgoing and welcoming. The station is a restored 1930's D-X filling station with an auto museum in what used to be the repair bays as well as a separate building in back. The station has a bunch of Route 66 souvenir items - t-shirts, caps, books, key-chains, etc. We really enjoyed our visit!

    Great BBQ!
    Just had dinner here. Fried pickles were hot and tasty. Pulled pork was AMAZING and so much I couldn’t finish it. Husband loved the ribs and couldn’t finish them. Iced tea came in huge mason jars and was very refreshing. Service was friendly and fast. Highly recommend a stop here for lunch or dinner!

    Review of winery only. No charge for tastings!
    This is a review of the winery. Val was very informative and personable. We ended up buying two wines. His tastings don't cost anything and he gives you his full attention. It was a delightful experience!

    Great Time had by All
    The faculty at the resort were excellent. Informative and helpful. Spent a lot of time in Docs, food was great and enjoyed the live entertainment with the fellow on acoustic. Played golf at the course for two days. The course was top notch but we couldn't get a drink on the course. Despite the course being full was told there wasn't enough play to warrant a Bev Cart. Being a "Resort" I would think if there was 1 group on the course I would have someone looking after them. First Class golf! Very tough and fair course. Each hole with its own personality. Can't wait to try it again. Overall great experience and truth be known, not getting that 10am Bloody Mary on the course prolly saved a hang over. Keep up the good work!

    Great place to buy pecan items
    We heard about this place from a shop owner in Chetopa, KS and drove to Afton especially to purchase pecan products. We were not disappointed. The variety of items offered is outstanding and the prices were certainly reasonable. The lady working there was very friendly and knowledgeable about their products. We would definitely stop here next time we are in the area.

    Great fun!
    Owned by the owners of The Shebang, this is as crazy as The Shebang's bar is laid back. Very good music, really reasonable drink prices, and everyone is there to dance and drink and have a good time. Lots of fun to let a little loose. Definitely on the list for my next visit to the area!
